首先，我们不要过分“用功”，走路的时候不要看书，坐车时也不要翻单词本。因为走路、坐车时手里拿的书很不稳定，眼与书本间的距离不停变换，调节肌就要不断地调节，很容易疲劳。
另外，看书时不要为了舒服而躺在床上看，因为躺着看，两个眼球离书本远近不同，调节肌需要用的调节力也不一样，时间长了，两只眼睛就会形成程度不同的近视状态。
还有，不要看字过小的书报，写过小的字，那样很费劲，会大大加重眼球的负担。
控制看书时间也很重要。看书时间到了一个小时左右，要适当休息一下，眺望一下远方，或者闭目养神。千万不要由于被书报所吸引，而如痴如醉地看上几个小时。
看书时，眼离书本的距离应保持一市尺，不要离得过近。这是非常重要的。

到了星期六，我去看了眼睛。我足足才有不到0。3的视力。我惊讶了！接着我滴了眼药水，使瞳孔放大。一个小时后才有了效果。然后我去测光，我近视375度。这可是属于中度近视。医生说：“明天来试镜片。”在路上，我想起了往常我的一些行为习惯，心里挺后悔的！近视不仅麻烦，配眼镜时还要花钱。真不值得！
到了星期天，我和爸爸去试镜片——我要带325度的眼镜。我带着眼镜走了一会，觉得所有东西都清晰了。过了一会，我摘下眼镜，一切变得模糊了。我这才知道我的视力有多么差！医生说：“你得一辈子都戴眼镜了！”
