草莓，又叫红莓等，它的外型呈心形，鲜美红嫩，果肉多汁，酸甜可口，香味浓郁，不仅有色彩还有一般水果所没有的宜人芳香，是水果中难得的色，香，味俱佳者，因此常被人们誉为“果中皇后”。它含有丰富的维生素C，此外还含胡萝卜素、葡萄糖、蛋白质、脂肪、铁钙、磷等，所以又有人管草莓叫“美容果”，拿起一个放到口中轻轻的嚼动，粉红色的汁液伴随着鲜嫩的果肉在嘴里有一种甜滋滋、酸溜溜、凉爽爽的美妙感觉。
草莓是多年生草本植物，茎粗壮，密集成丛，高5—25cm。茎密被黄棕色柔毛，几与叶等长。花两性，直径1—2cm，5—6个花瓣，圆形，基部有白色短爪，雄蕊20枚，不等长，花期有4—7个月，果期有6—8个月。草莓适合种植在阳光充足，疏水性好的土壤里。土壤深度大约在8—10英寸。在秋天，要在植株上铺上一层土，防止霜冻。等土壤上冻后，可以再在植株上铺3—4英寸厚的干草。到第二年的春天，当有新叶子长出后，再移去干草。等天气转暖，并稳定后，在移去植株表层的覆盖土壤。但要在行间留一些干草，以防止野草的生长和保持土壤的水份。
草莓的种植有三年的周期，一年仅能收获很少的草莓，第二年就会收获很多，但到了第三年，草莓的产量就要明显下降，需要把植株替换掉。所以合理安排培植新植株，保证每年总有一些草莓是第二年生的，可以获得最大的经济效益。
中医认为，草莓性味甘、凉、胃、肺经，有润肺生津，健脾和胃，利尿消肿，解热祛暑之功，适用于肺热咳嗽、食欲不振、小便短少、暑热烦渴等。草莓中含有的果胶及纤维素，可促进胃肠蠕动，改善便秘、预防痔疮、肠癌的发生。草莓中含有的胺类物质，对白血病，再生障碍性贫血有一定疗效。

鸡，是一种普遍的家禽。它的身高是二十厘米左右，身长二十五厘米左右，体重也只有三点五公斤，是一种弱小的动物。
鸡的种类繁多，如草鸡，白羽鸡，土鸡，肉鸡等。共有二百五十种，但主要分于肉用和蛋用。
鸡对光十分敏感，当鸡舍里没有光线便停止进食。而鸡也十分挑剔，当光线过弱或过强时，便会尖叫，直到恢复为适宜光线为止。鸡睡觉时，即使有一丝光照进鸡舍鸡也会惊醒，直到确认安全后才会入睡。
鸡没有牙齿和软颚，颊，在进食和饮水时，靠仰头进入。在鸡进食时，它首先会把草叶或玉米粒啄碎，一点一点的吞下肚。有时，遇到较小的失误，它会一口吞下。若不成功过，它会多试几次直至吞下。
鸡睡觉时，总喜欢窝在鸡舍的角落里，一群挤在一起，以便取暖。防止散热，着凉，也让大家睡得更舒服。
鸡蛋生出来后，经过二十一天就可以诞生小鸡苗，再经过两个月的成长，就可以长成大鸡。而再过两个月母鸡才可生蛋。鸡小时可耐热，但需要保温。而大鸡正好相反，它是耐寒不耐热，要注意经常给鸡舍散热。一年半的鸡算是成年。
鸡是一种小而攻击力弱的动物。它每次都不善于攻击，而是善于逃跑。它也十分热爱自由，每次快被捉住的时候，便会奋力挣扎，啄那个人的手。
鸡的祖先是原鸡，因世界环境变化和基因变化，经过数千万年来，就演变成了今天的鸡类大家族。
