I recently read the book, Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mom by Amy Chua. I found that you and Ms. Chua have a lot in common in parenting. Today, I d like to share some of my views on this topic.
Childhood memories of your strict dos and don ts came flooding back. Because count- less hours were invested on practicing musicalinsUu- ments, there was not even a slim chance for me to participate in parties and school plays, let alone fully enjoy the authentic pleasures of family life.Moreover, deprived of the freedom to choose hob- bies, I sometimes felt that I was just like a lonely pup- pet manipulated by others. Dear mother, do you be- lieve that time and time again I woke up from beau- tiful dreams with tears streaming down my face?
However, though I ve labeled it as a brutal regimen when I was young, as I became heavily involved inme outside world, I ve come to realize that it was quite rewarding to have been tiger trained. As George Eliot putslt, It never rains roses: when we want to have more roses, we must plant trees . This is as true of 0ur growing up, especially in an unprecedentedly stressful so- cietyr, Fortunately, tiger parenting has equipped me with exceptional study habits,thus helping me stand out in the intense competition. Furthermore, it has endowed me with strong willpower as well as inner self-poise, which bas proved to be a most pre- cious quality of mine. Finally,thanks to your firm discipline, not cmly have I cultivateda discerning taste in art, but I ve also built my own set of moral values. In view of all these facts, tiger parenting has benefited me in the lorlg run despite the cost of the immediate joy of a normal carefree cbildhood.

兰兰头也没拾，说声“没关系!”扳开我的手，揩去了油污。阿姨感激地朝着兰兰微笑，我却很不是滋味。 电影一结束，我就迫不及待地向兰兰诉说了经过，兰兰惊诧地望着我，诚恳地说:“我们外表上的油污容易擦去，而心灵上蒙上的灰尘却难以清扫哪!”我若有所思地点着头，对兰兰说:“明天是我的生日，你就把那双沽有油污的手套作为生日礼物送给我吧!” 这件微乎其微的小事虽然已逝去一年之久，但是它却时刻激励鞭策着我，教我自新，催我上进。

唏哩呼噜想了一会儿，高兴地说：“对啦，是妈妈过生日!爸爸过生日，妈妈给他买了一顶皮帽子;妈妈过生日，爸爸给她买了一个大西瓜。买西瓜，当然是夏天。现在就是夏天，当然是妈妈过生日!”
唏哩呼噜过生日的时候，妈妈给他买了一个大蛋糕。现在，他已经长大了，妈妈过生日，他也应该给妈妈买点儿什么当礼物。
“我把礼物摆在桌上，”小猪美滋滋地想，“等妈妈回来一看，哇，谁送我的礼物啊?是小唏哩呼噜?真的呀?啊，我的小儿子真长大了，还想着妈妈的生日!”
唏哩呼噜越想越快活。
后来，他忽然不快活了，他没有钱，怎么’买礼物呢?
“我会干活儿了，”小猪想了想说，“我去干一天活儿，到晚上，用挣来的钱给妈妈买回好多好吃的!
他背上一个兜子，跑到集市上去。
小猪看见一位山羊伯伯面前摆着—副担子，两个大筐里都装着圆圆的绿萝卜。山羊伯伯正在吆喝：“又甜又脆的心里美!一块钱两个，不好吃不要钱!”
唏哩呼噜也会挑担子。他走上去问：“山羊伯伯，我帮您挑担子吧!我很有力气，帮您挑回家去，您给我一个心里美萝卜就行!”
老山羊说：“去去去，别处玩儿去!——我费好大劲儿挑来的，干吗又挑回去?我疯啦?”
唏哩呼噜只好走开。他才走出去几步羊伯伯又把他叫回去，对他说：“对了，你帮我看一会儿摊子吧，我得去方便方便!你好好儿等着，回来我的萝卜一个也没丢，我就送给你一个。”
唏哩呼噜不明白“方便方便”是干什么，不过，看山羊伯伯的样子，肯定是件急事。唏哩呼噜立刻答应了。
山羊伯伯一走，唏哩呼噜就学他的样子吆喝起来：“又甜又又脆的心里美!一块钱两个，不好吃不要钱!”
有两位顾客来买萝卜，一共买去十个。
山羊伯伯回来，小猪把五块钱交到他手里。
“怎么，还替我卖了萝卜?”老山羊羊喜出望外地说，“我看出你是个老实的孩子，可没想到你还这么能干!
老山羊一高兴，给了他两个“心里美”。
唏哩呼噜欢欢喜喜把萝卜装进背兜里，向山羊伯伯道了谢。绿皮红瓤儿，，又这么大，还是两个，他已经有了一件不错的礼物啦!”
天还早。小猪希望妈妈更高兴，就满怀信心，继续往前走。
他看见一家点心铺，里边摆满了各式各样的糕点。狐狸掌柜正坐在柜台里看报，小猪走上去打招呼说：“早上好，狐狸先生!您要不要去方便方便?”
狐狸先生一笑说：“想趁我出去的时候，偷吃我的糕点吧?”
小猪说：“不对。我想替您照看铺子，挣一点儿钱。您应当吆喝。人家听见了，就会来买您的点心!”
狐狸掌柜说：“这主意不错。不过，看你傻乎乎的样子，当店员怕是不行。这么着吧，我后院儿里有一点儿垃圾，你可以替我倒出去，再把院子打扫干净。要是你干得好，我送给你一块大蛋糕!”
唏哩呼噜指着一块有“生日快乐”几个字的漂亮的大蛋糕说：“就是那样子的吗?”
狐狸掌柜点着头说：“对，就是这样子的!”
小猪高兴极了!这礼物可太棒啦!
狸先生找来扫帚、铁锹和一个空木箱，让小猪抱到后院儿去。
小猪跑去一看，哇!
垃圾根本不是“一点儿”!狐狸先生大概把自己的院子当成大垃圾箱啦——整个院子，垃圾堆得满满的，差不多跟墙一般高!
小猪鼓起。勇气，下决心搬掉这座山。要知道，把这件事做完，那块大蛋糕可就归他啦!
他拼命地干起来。
他用铁锹把垃圾装进大木箱，然后丢下铁锹，抱起大木箱，摇摇晃晃走到垃圾站，倒掉。
小猪就这样，一趟、两趟、三趟……
开始的时候，太阳在东边笑嘻嘻地瞧着他，好像对他说：“唏哩呼噜，好样儿的!加油干吧!”
后来，太阳移到了他头顶”，看见他大汗珠子滴滴答客往下掉，不由得自己也急得浑身滚烫。再后来，他瞧见小猪累得直摔跟头，实在不忍心再看，红着脸躲到西山背后去了。
到这时候，小猪可快活得很，因为活儿都干完了!他跑到前边，高兴地告诉狐狸先生说：“都做完啦，给我大蛋糕吧!”
狐狸先生惊讶地睁大眼睛：“大蛋糕?什么大蛋糕啊?”
小猪有些着急地说：“您讲了，我做得好就给我那块大蛋糕!我做得不好吗?”
他把狐狸掌柜拖到后院儿去看。狐狸掌柜说：“思，;你做得很好。可是你的耳朵很不好—一我明明说：要是你做得好，我就送给你一个做蛋糕用的大鸡蛋。”
小猪说：“不对，您不是那么说的!”
狐狸先生说：“对，我是那么说的!”
“不对!”
“对!”
“就不对!”
“就对!”
小猪没有办法了。唉，鸡蛋就鸡蛋吧!
狐狸先生真的从蛋箱里给他挑了—个最大的鸡蛋。
小猪背着两个萝卜，捧着那个鸡蛋往家里走。天已经很黑了。月亮怕小猪摔了鸡蛋，赶，紧跑出来给他照路。
小猪又累又饿，可是他一路上只是想：“说的是大蛋糕嘛，怎么变成了大鸡蛋?要是我拿回去的是个大蛋糕，妈妈该有多开心!”
还好，家里的桌子上，已经摆着一个很大很大的大蛋糕。这一定是爸爸给妈妈买的。
爸爸、妈妈和姐姐们正围着桌子团团坐。大家都在等着他回家吃饭。妈妈叫着说：“哎呀，怎么搞得这样脏?简直是一头泥巴小猪嘛!”
爸爸也摇摇头：“啊，真糟糕!”
唏哩呼噜把鸡蛋放在桌子上，又把背兜里的`两个“心里美”萝卜拿出来摆好，向妈妈说：“这是我送给妈妈的生日礼物。祝妈妈生日快乐!”
爸爸和妈妈都怔住了。后来妈妈看看爸爸，爸爸爸看看妈妈，忽然一齐哈哈大笑。妈妈笑得眼泪都流出来了。
姐姐们也都笑了，还使劲拍手。
唏哩呼噜一点儿都不明白，他们笑什么呀?
妈妈把唏哩呼噜搂在怀里，温柔地说：“真是妈妈的乖孩子!可是你弄错了。妈妈的生日，还要等一个月呢。傻孩子，今天是你的生日啊!你看，这是爸爸给你买的生日大蛋糕!”
爸爸笑着对他说：“祝你生日快乐，唏哩呼噜!走吧，咱们去洗个澡。洗干净了，你好给大家分蛋糕!”
