（一）坚持“以人为本”的教育理念。传统的教育理念很大程度上决定着教育在价值方面的取向，而我国长期存在的“社会本位”的片面教育理念，即认为一旦社会取得发展，个人就自然而然的能够得到进步和发展。然而，对于思想政治教育而言，教育与受教育这两者都是教育的主体，其本身是密切的`相互促进关系，属于一个相互联系的统一体。同时，这两者之间又是完全平等的关系。所以，坚持“以人为本”的教育理念是实现思想政治教育个人价值的重要前提与条件，对于个人的全面发展具有重要的促进作用。
（二）加强个人精神世界的丰富。思想政治教育是从培育人的思想、道德、品质等综合素质为出发点和根本点，旨在完善人的多方面需要，不断提升人的精神需求，并促进人用科学思维、科学立场、科学观点以及科学方法等去认识、理解这个世界。因此，丰富个人的思想精神世界，不但有助于开展思想政治教育，而且有利于个人思维、情感、智慧以及品质等多方面能力的提升与发展，从而更好更快的实现个人价值。[2]
（三）改进思想政治教育的方法。传统思想政治教育是把教育者作为整个环节的核心，而现代化的思想政治教育迫切需要改变这种教育方法，树立以受教育者为主体的适应社会发展的思想政治教育方法，即结合受教育者的实际情况，如立场、需要、利益、期望等，深入开展思想政治教育，激发广大受教育者的积极性与主动性，促使他们进行自主学习、自我调整、自我完善与自我提升，实现个人思想、性格、心理、精神等的全面发展，最大程度发挥思想政治教育促进个人价值实现的功能。
（四）完善思想政治教育内容。当今社会，要想促使思想政治教育个人价值的实现，一方面要注重对受教育者的心理引导和教育，帮助其克服困难、强化意志力，增强适应社会环境的能力，树立积极乐观的心态。另一方面要加强法律法规的教育，大力宣传法制教育，营造学法、懂法、尊法、守法的良好社会环境，同时还要增强公民的纪律教育，强化公民的纪律意识，养成遵守纪律的好习惯，如此才更加有助于思想政治教育个人价值的实现。[3]
