在22世纪，地球人口暴增，人类在把大面积的森林、田园变成了高楼大厦时，他们不知道，自然危害正向他们逼近。人类破坏原始森林与地球植被，使地球的沙漠化进程大大增加，地球气候异常，工业化进程破坏环境、污染水源、而厄尔尼诺现象严重威胁人类生存。
现在的我在国际科研小组工作。今天，我在开会时向大家提出了我冥思苦想后的一个计划：“克隆一个‘健康’的地球。”我还担心不能通过。提出意见后，大家都拍手叫好，一致通过。
得到允许，我们开始忙碌起来。采集现在地球上的仅剩的资源和各种克隆地球所需要的基本成分，如：水、土、动植物……经过—个月的'不懈努力，我们竟然克隆了一个别开生面小地球，我们帮小地球作了一系列的检查扫描、计算、测量……这个新地球和现在的地球的结构十分相似。几天后，新地球“长大”了，科研小组帮它作了最后的检查：空气清新、温度合适、资源丰富，分布广、动植物多……得出结论：一切正常。然后我们把它送到与旧地球相对的赤道。
新地球的生长速度极快，利用新地球的一部分树林吸掉之前旧地球二氧化碳，排出氧气，原本旧地球那黯然无色的天空终于露出了蓝宝石般的天空。大部分国家“吃一堑，长一智”统统拆除污染性工厂，改造为无污染环保工厂。这一举动，让地球母亲恢复了之前的原貌：蔚蓝的天空，清澈的河流，清新的空气……万紫千红，鸟语花香。也让人们得到教训，自觉保护环境。而新的地球也为人口暴增的问题迎刃而解，我们科研小组也被联合国成为“最佳科研小组”。
通过这一次教训，我想跟21世纪的人们说：“地球的命运掌握在你们手里，而命运是会改变的。请保护地球，不要让世界出现第二个地球！”
