有一个孩子《成功在我身边》开篇这样写道：
成功之前必定要经历失败与挫折，但是只要努力，就能战胜它。
在暑假的一天上午，我和弟弟周海涛去坐车玩，忽然，我发现他的书包里鼓鼓的“你的书包里装了什么东西？
这样写会让故事很突兀，没有交代故事背景，对后面故事做的铺垫不够。
我们来看看一些文学作品中是如何交代背景的。
例如《狂人》简单介绍了这份日记的
某君昆仲，今隐其名，皆余昔日在中学时良友；分隔多年，消息渐阙。日前偶闻其一大病；适归故乡，迂道往访，则仅晤一人，言病者其弟也。劳君远道来视，然已早愈，赴某地候补⑵矣。因大笑，出示日记二册，谓可见当日病状，不妨献诸旧友。持归阅一过，知所患盖”迫害狂“之类。语颇错杂无伦次，又多荒唐之言；亦不着月日，惟墨色字体不一，知非一时所书。间亦有略具联络者，今撮录一篇，以供医家研究。记中语误，一字不易；惟人名虽皆村人，不为世间所知，无关大体，然亦悉易去。至于书名，则本人愈后所题，不复改也。七年四月二日识。
在《红楼梦》中开头有巧设悬念引起下文的石头来历：
原来女娲氏炼石补天之时，于大荒山无稽崖练成高经十二丈，方经二十四丈顽石三万六千五百零一块．娲皇氏只用了三万六千五百块，只单单剩了一块未用，便弃在此山青埂峰下．谁知此石自经煅炼之后，灵性已通，因见众石俱得补天，独自己无材不堪入选，遂自怨自叹，日夜悲号惭愧．
对于一个故事来说，交代完背景就会有一些人物出场，那么就需要你交代人物形象的特征。

与前因一样，结果的交代也要十分简练。
有个孩子在《伴着希望出发》结尾这样总结：
演讲还算顺利。当我紧张时，好友会投与我一个鼓励的眼神；当我赢得众人的掌声时，她会为我喝彩；当我不是那么自信时，他会给我做手势，好像在对我说：“你伴着希望出发，一定没有问题的，自信点！”于是，我更加有信心了。
我在好友的帮助下，伴着希望出发。她在我迷茫的时候给予我鼓励，在我失意的时候给予我劝导。让我明白：小河在涌入汪洋大海时也遇到了重重困难，可最后仍成功了。当我在出发后遇到困难时，不要彷徨，要勇往直前。
这段结尾点明中心，但不够简洁，结尾应该用叙述概括的语言做总结，点明和升华主题，让人有发人深省，意犹未尽之感。我们来看一些作者如果写结尾的：
毕淑敏的《孝心无价》后面有句总括的语言：
“只是，天下的儿女们，一定要抓紧啊！趁你们父母健在的光阴。”
间接明了，又概括了全文。
鲁迅的《狂人日记》中最后一句进行呼吁也成了这部名篇的亮点：
“救救孩子……”
