People travel by plane, by train, by ship, by bus. To me, the best way of traveling on a summer vacation is to go on foot.人们会乘坐飞机、火车、轮船、公交车去旅游。对于我来说，最好的旅游方式是暑假期间徒步旅游。
On a summer vacation I travel to refresh myself and to see the countryside. When I use my feet and walk on a grass covered path or among the hills I feel detached from the noise of the city and closer to the nature. And when I travel on foot I get more freedom. I can plan my own schedule. I can choose my own route. I can stop where I like. And I can see things and people that I might miss if I travel on a train or on a bus.暑假的时候，我通过旅游去释放自己和游览乡间。当我用双脚走在铺满小草的小径或山间时，我感觉（自己）远离城市的喧嚣，并且更亲近大自然。当我徒步旅行时我可以得到更多的自由。我可以自己选择行程。我可以自己选择路线。只要喜欢，我就可以停下来。而且我可以看到很多人和事，那些我可能乘坐火车或公车旅行而错失的。
When faster and more convenient ways for travel are becoming available, I still favor using my own feet. I get much pleasure from it. 当更快、更方便的旅游方式变成通用的，我仍然支持用自己的双脚（旅行），我从中得到了许多乐趣。

在这个暑假中，我第一次坐上了梦寐以求的飞机，第一次踏上了我向往已久的城市，领略了异地无限美丽的风光，在杭州看到了水平如镜的西湖，在厦门看到了美不胜收的鼓浪屿，在乌镇看到了古朴素雅，胜似江南的景色，但令我印象最深的还是那个多姿多彩的厦门。
第一天下飞机时，已是黄昏，黄昏中的厦门显得格外动人，夕阳西下，人们光着脚丫三三两两的海边悠闲地散步，阳光照在海面上，倒影就象小孩子红红的大肚皮，黄昏中的厦门一切都是那样诗情画意，到了晚上，月亮一点一点的升了起来，给这个繁华的大都市涂上了别样的光韵。高楼林立，车水马龙，生活节奏快，人流量大，消费高，这些都是我脑海中厦门的代名词，到底是不是这样呢?我带着这个疑问，回到温馨可人的家庭旅馆美美睡了一觉，睡前嘴角还挂着微笑……
第二天，睡醒一觉之后，拉开窗帘，阳光投射进来，天湛蓝湛蓝的.，今天真是一个难得的好天气，我和家人迈着轻盈的步伐走出了门，哼着小调，坐上了轮渡。从轮渡向鼓浪屿望去，就像一幅风景画。很快，我们踏上了誉有海上花园佳名的鼓浪屿，岛上的植物郁郁葱葱，使人感到空气都是清新的，这个小岛和市区只相隔着一条几百米的海洋。如果说厦门是一个热闹，不甘寂寞的青年，那么鼓浪屿就像一个不食人间烟火的羞涩少女。
这座不大的小岛上足足有三百多条街，一家家精致的小店大部分都汇聚在龙头路上，它们总会出其不意的出现在我的面前，让我惊喜不已，我们在美丽安静的鼓浪屿上行走，喝着冰仙草，吃着各种小吃，逛了一家又一家。傍晚，海风吹来，吹散了一天的燥热，这时我发现了一个叫阿甘慢递的小店，这个店让我感到印象深刻的是写信，不过写的可不是一般的信，是写给未来的自己。
我认真地坐下写了一封写给十年后自己的信，信中我对未来的自己说，厦门真的很美，像一幅嵌在框子里的画一般，我让长大后的自己再来厦门，再来这家店，那时的我会是什么样子，又在做什么呢?我拿着我的盖章本，盖了一家又一家，留下了一个又一个的美好回忆，在鼓浪屿上，每到一家小店就会有无穷的惊喜和乐趣。第三天，第四天我们接连去了观音山的梦幻水世界，厦门有名的杂货一条街，吃遍了厦门小吃，逛遍了厦门大学，玩遍了厦门的曾厝垵。
厦门的景物，厦门的鼓浪屿让我改变了原来的看法，厦门不仅可以很都市，很繁华，还可以很自然，很文艺，更可以很浪漫。几天的旅行很快就结束了。厦门，让我流连忘返，不舍得离去，十年后我一定会再来看你的。那时的厦门，那时的我，这个美好又遥远的梦想将从现在开始一直陪伴我……
