8、看到影片中林更新、何润东的形象，也有些明白了尔冬升为何选这俩人来演谢晓峰和燕十三，因为两人在青年演员中身形都属于比较壮硕高大那类的，跟其他演员站在一起颇有鹤立鸡群之感，从身材上看就很有大侠范儿。所扮演的角色也比较适合各自擅长的戏路，林更新的善良、纯真的气质，跟影片给谢晓峰安排的被迫参与江湖***戮、一心退隐江湖平淡度日的角色定位十分吻合。而何润东近几年也在努力转变戏路，扮演过不少粗犷野性的硬汉形象，扮演片中这个一生为自己正名而疯狂的剑客燕十三也比较适合。
9、让江一燕来演慕容秋荻无疑算是一个稳妥选择。因为江一燕此前已经有不少古装武侠片的拍摄经历，再加上她比较擅长情感戏路，所以比较适合扮演片中这个既极端痴情温柔、又极端疯狂冷酷的慕容秋荻。而在新版《红楼梦》中扮演林黛玉的蒋梦婕在本片中扮演妓女娃娃，也是希望用她的漂亮面孔演出风尘职业和清纯内心之间的反差，而蒋梦婕对角色把握也还算不错，至少没有让人失望。
10、《三少爷的剑》结尾在谢家山庄上演的大战，虽然谢家众人对决天尊手下的开场打戏设计得动作和氛围俱佳，但随后谢晓峰和燕十三神兵天降拯救谢家、决战天尊的高潮打戏有些不太给力，因为谢晓峰和燕十三实在太强，天尊那边根本没有对等的高手嘛!所以影片最后还要专门安排一场谢晓峰和燕十三的对决来弥补观众了。
