啊！李根果真很厉害啊。看来还不能轻视哟，在以后的学习中，我课上认真学习，课下认真复习，平时认真练习，紧追慢赶，有时他考第一，有时我考第一。
一次，我与他下五子棋，稀里糊涂我就输了。他得意地摇头晃脑，还笑话我。我气极了。
学校举行“讲故事，知荣辱”比赛，每班推荐两名男生参加，我和李根被选中。李根得奖回来，我觉得自己再无立足之地。
既生璇，何生根！我总算是理解周瑜的心情了。当你遇见一个处处胜过你的人，处处都令你相形见拙，怎么能不心急呢？
从此，我和李根较上劲了。学习更加刻苦，做什么事情都要和李根比。他比上我了，我追他；我比上他了，他追我……
我考上了理想的中学，有时会想：我是不是庆幸自己有这样一个实力强大的竞争对手呢？其实，刚开始，只是想着把他比下去，到了后来呢？我非常欣赏他：好胜，不嫉妒，永不言败，有时也有小心眼。在我的心里，李根已经不是对手而是真正的朋友了。
