有钱江晚报记者专访科幻作家刘慈欣，他说，探索未知世界，是人类文明历程中，最深刻的精神动力。整个航天事业精神层面的意义，就是唤醒人们深藏在内心的探索未知的动力。科幻作品跟航空探险一样，可以激发少年热血，对未知世界的新奇构想的惊叹与憧景。探索是人类获取知识的不竭动力。
自古以来，中华民族就是颇具探索精神的民族。一方面，勤劳善良；另一方面诚实谦虚，尤其是不怕困难，敢于奉献的优良传统，更是令人瞩目。
三国时代发明家马昀，从小口吃，很少说话，但勤于思考，发明创造很多，他当时看见母亲用织机纺衣，天天劳累，决心升级织布机。有一天，他在路上看见一个小男孩打核桃时，手拉穿过树枝的长绳摇下许多核桃，受到启发并反复试验，他反复的`失败却未放弃，每时每刻都在专研，后来，在他不歇地探索下，他终于明悟了原理制作出了更加高效的织机。后来，他更是冥思苦想，发明了“龙骨水车”。这是当时世界上最先进的灌溉工具。
