午后，诗人怀着悠闲的心情慢慢散步，无意间看到了一座又低又小的茅屋。茅屋就在长满青草的溪边，屋后是一棵棵苍翠挺拔的竹子，一座座连绵起伏的山峦，透露出乡村恬静的气息。屋前的小溪，河水清澈透明，河里的游鱼在欢快的嬉戏，在阳光的照耀下，河面波光粼粼，一阵微风拂过，河面泛起一圈圈涟漪。溪面上，圆盘一样碧绿的荷叶，随风摇拽，如亭亭舞女的裙。溪上的荷花，有袅娜地开着的，有羞涩地打着朵儿的，多么美的景色啊!
诗人听见茅屋有人操着柔媚的南方口音带着醉意在互相说话取笑，是谁呢?原来是一对白发夫妻，再看看茅草屋外，老夫妻的大儿子在小溪东面锄豆田里的杂草，二儿子在编鸡笼子，十分专注，调皮可爱的小儿子，趴在溪边剥着莲蓬，一边吃，一边摇着小脚，真是可爱极了!
多么幸福啊!诗人深深地陶醉在这一幅具人情之美和生活之趣的画卷中……
