One day, Paula and Richard decided to make a kite.
First they went out and found two straight sticks of the same length. They brought them back home and tied them with a piece of string into the shape of a cross. Then they took some string and used it to tie the four ends of the sticks together. Then, they spread some brightly coloured paper over the frame and glued it around the string.They stuck a tail made of paper to one of the corners, and tied a long string to the centre of the kite.
On the next windy day, they took the kite to a hill near their house and flew it.

回学校后，到了外面要来检查的那一天，我们一起来到体艺馆等着他们的到来，这对于其他人来说是轻而易举的小事——都已经很熟练了，而对于我来说，真是——无地自容呀!我一直拿着稿子站在舞台上发愣：呀!这么多，我能背下来吗?我读都没会读，更别说是背了……
来了，检查的人来了。哎呀!校长也来了，这下我真是焦急透了，这都怨我在家里没背好，现在可出丑了。这时，MissGao跑过来，她好像看出了我的心思，便拿过我手中的稿子，开始耐心地让我读、理解，在这种情况下，MissGao仍然是镇定的，使我一下子被打动了。她转过头，对着台下的\'校长以及检查员说：“这个小姑娘才拿到稿子，还不会背!”只听台下传来：“没关系，没关系!”这时，我不知道有多少感谢MissGao的。“英子，开始吧!”MissGao提醒我，我拿着稿子，走到台前，面带微笑地说着：“……”我的第一句话讲完了，这对我来说，就像是翻过高山越过大河——难啦!音乐响了，大家开始“活动”了，就这样一句句下去，比吃黄连还要苦呀。终于，表演结束了，我也吁了一口气。
来到MissGao面前，我的心情是那么的激动、害怕，生怕MissGao骂我，可是没有，她依然微笑着，是一种自然的美，这时，我真想一头扎进MissGao的怀抱，对她由衷地说一声：“MissGao.Thankyou!” MissGao,ILoveyou!
