笔者对开展情境教学的09级酒店专业(1班学生和采用传统讲读教学方法的(2班学生在英语学习效果和学习兴趣方面做了调查分析。
两组学生入学时英语平均成绩基本相同，在学习酒店英语课程一年后进行考核，结果(1班学生的平均成绩为81.50，比入学时成绩提高了25.60%，而(2班学生的平均成绩为69.20，比入学时仅提高了0.06%。
在学习兴趣的调查方面我采用的是问卷调查，主要调查内容为英语学习兴趣的程度：“高”、“较高”、“一般”、“较低”、“低”。结果(1班学生的选项在“高”和“较高”上占到了全班总人数的88%，而(2班的学生有73%的选择了“较低”。
从以上数据中可以清楚地看到情境教学法在学生的学习兴趣和学习效果方面所起到的巨大作用。
综上所述，情境教学法在高职高专酒店英语教学中的实施不仅是可行的而且是有必要的。所以，为给国家和社会输送更多合格的酒店服务专业人才，我们必将改革传统的教学方法，让情境教学法深入到酒店英语教学的每个环节，培养出能够熟练运用酒店英语知识，具有较高的职业能力和素质的酒店服务人才。
