海南岛的气候
（1）海南岛纬度较低，冬季获得的太阳辐射较多，因此冬季温暖，最冷月（1月）平均气温在16度以上。南部的西沙、中沙和南沙群岛更是暖热。冬季风虽达本岛，但势力较弱，受其影响时，全岛各地有不同程度的降温，降温幅度由北向南减少。偶遇寒潮南下，降温幅度有所增大，但持续时间不长，特别是由于中部山地的阻挡，岛南气温变化不大，三亚市的月均温度仍在20度以上。
（2）夏季由于太阳辐射强，全岛普遍高温，最热月（7月）平均气温在25度??29度之间，中部山区比较凉爽。由于受来自海洋、风向偏南的夏季风的影响，大部分地区夏无酷暑。又因夏季多云雨，天气凉爽，也有“一雨成秋”之说。极端一般高于38度，曾有过40。3度的记录，通常出现在4、5月份。6、7月份因受副热带高气压控制或台风前缘下沉气流的影响，也会出现闷热天气。但除中午外，一天中其他时间都可感受到“快意和风海上来”的凉爽感。
（3）海南岛年降水量为1500??2000毫米，降水充沛，除西部地区为半湿润地区外，绝大部分地区为湿润地区。全岛降水有明显的雨、旱季之分和丰、歉年之别。降水量集中在夏、秋季节，4??10月的雨量占全年的80%??90%。降水类型以对流雨和台风雨为主，大雨、暴雨次书多，强度大。而冬、春季降水较少。年际间降水量差别甚大，丰水年往往是歉水年的2?3倍，西南部甚至超过5倍。
（4）海南岛每年5??11月都有热带风暴（风力8??9级）、强热带风暴（风力10??11级）和台风（风力12级或12级以上）的影响，尤以8、9月为多。据统计，平均每年在海南岛登陆的风暴、台风有2。7次，最多年份达6次。近几年来，风灾对海南岛的'影响有所减少。
