本来，追寻一个先人的旅程不会是这么一个侦探片一样的故事。中国人对于血缘传承和家族势力的执念在某种程度上一直战胜着改朝换代的战火离乱。
你家有家谱，你村里有祠堂，你看见小伙伴们两个字的名里头一个字跟你一样，所以你知道你们是一辈的人。但是现在，你得靠着躺在善本室里好多年没人看过的，因为拍电视的噱头才拿出来的只字片语来确认你爷爷奶奶甚至爹妈的事迹。
中国人对于历史的尊重，用孔子的话说，是“慎终追远”，对于过去的学习和尊重，最早来自于祭祀时候对于祖先故事的恭敬了解。
在这个古老的农业文明里，家族不仅代表着生活在一起的一群人，也是荣耀，身份和信誉，它更是一种最终成为政治势力的家族凝聚力。这种凝聚力成为一种历史发展中与朝代更迭时而并行又时而分开的隐形实力。除非被另一种政治力量专门针对，否则，它具有我们根本无法想象的活力。举个例子，除了没有军事力量自我防备之外，易老师家的言馨堂里有书斋等各种生活配套设施，这很像魏晋时候的坞壁——可以在乱世里自我供给自我保存。
而现在，需要后人这么费力去探究家族历史的原因不外乎不问和不说。
不问的原因很简单：忙，没兴趣，或者反正时间还长，以后慢慢说。然而何至于一无所知，恐怕是因为“不说”。
易老师虽然演技一般又有表现欲，所以看起来总有点违和。但是易老师也时而说点真话：比如说听到他的继外婆是燕京大学外文系的毕业生，但他从来没听她说过一句外语的时候，找来捧哏的专家糊弄说，那是因为你挖掘不够深。然而易老师说，那时候谁敢说外语啊，那不是美国特务嘛。易老师的表现最值得称道的地方在于他几次的转头叹息。大家可以留意留意。
“不能说”还是“不愿说”才是这么多长辈对于家族故事讳莫如深的原因。它隐藏着历次政治势力对于“家族”这个概念的清洗，某些希望打破社会结构的政治力量首先需要打破的是家族这样一个稳定的层层叠叠的忠诚的构架。
请别误会，不独我朝，从娜拉出走、涓生子君私奔就开始了。战争和改朝换代都有意无意的推波助澜着，而后我们这个自古最重血统的民族走到了这一步——你爹妈的事迹成了一个谜。
需要向天要答案。
这节目原先只想搏人眼球，嘉宾的选择，故事的裁剪都简直如同春晚一样照顾到了方方面面：港澳同胞，海外侨胞，本季当红，国际知名人士，还要有文化人。于是有了易老师版的《走进科学》，硬凹的'侦探式的“死亡名单”开局。然而这个故事的内容让制作方不得不正视这个节目里相似外国节目永远不会有的沉重——这个国家在这一百年间经历的战火和离乱，被屠戮的生命，被践踏的尊严。

In the capacity of the former dean of "Dalian Management School" of Dalian University of Technology(DUT, I am writing with pleasure to recommend Mr. Cai to your esteemed university. I got to know him personally when he was taking the course--Methodology of Management Research (or Methods of Management as stated in his transcripts, a course I taught, concerning basic research methods, especially quantitative approach to management research.
