早餐后母亲要小盹一会，然后看看电视、看看报纸、做做自由操，柱着拐棍在屋内走走、停停，过去住在我家，每天都会戴着老花眼镜、手拿着放大镜看报纸，那情景至今历历在目。晚上我们回家她都要给我们绘声绘色地讲报纸上的事，什么新闻、消息、故事都会给我们认真的讲。近几年她视力急剧下降，已不能看报纸了，这是最让我们感到心酸的，我想要是老天爷哪天能开恩，让母亲恢复视力，母亲又能看报纸，又会给我们讲故事，那该多好啊！母亲的自由操是她自己发明的，活动从头到脚，四肢都要伸展，每次做半个小时左右，我看她做起来像个老小孩儿一样，心里挺舒服的。
中饭母亲只是填饱肚子，对米饭不像面条那么酷爱，中饭后她也要休息一会，但要比我们晚一点儿，主要是每天要亲手做一件事，那就是亲手为我削一个苹果，让我起床后吃。中午起床后，我都会看到一个皮没削干净的苹果放在碗里，那是因为母亲视力模糊，但当我看到这皮肉相间的苹果，我内心很甜，很美，内心迸发出一种无声的力量，同时又有一点心酸，我想这哪是一个苹果，分明是母亲对儿子的爱果、母亲对儿子的“情果”，母亲对儿子的希望果和祝福果，小小的一个苹果让我感到母爱无边。
