首先，学生使用手机主要用来收发短信（约占40%）、玩游戏或上网（约占25%）、闲聊（约占25%）与亲人联系约占10%。学生用手机容易产生与学业、亲人疏离的现象，最直接的后果是影响学业和引发早恋（手机为早恋提供便利条件）。我校一位初二年级品学兼优的女生，初一时未发现早恋行为，初二时家长为了与孩子联系方便，给孩子一部手机让其带回学校。该女生虽用手机与家人联络，但更多的是用来与同学和朋友聊天、上网，短短两个月就陷入早恋的漩涡，成绩大幅下降。家长觉察后，立即收回手机，但为时已晚。处于青春期的中学生心理承受能力很弱，这位女生因成绩下降，受不了周围同学异样的目光，加上情感纠缠，出现严重的心理问题，不得不求助于心理医生，最后只能休学回家调理。可以说，这个优秀的女生就毁于错误地使用手机。如果家长不提供手机，相信情况不会如此，毕竟中学生的自我控制能力难以达到成年人期望的水平。
其次，学生使用手机对校园正常的教学秩序造成不良影响。有些学生课间在厕所偷偷打电话、玩游戏，不注意时间，直到同学提醒才匆匆跑进教室，这种情况下学生怎能很快的投入学习状态？如果每节课都有几个学生迟到，不但影响自己学习，还影响老师讲课与其他同学听课。有些学生晚自习时间趁老师不注意偷偷地玩手机，殊不知正当他们沉迷于此的时候，宝贵的学习时间就这样一点点流失了，而且还给班级的学风带来不良的影响；有些住宿生熄灯后还在宿舍打电话、聊QQ或看微信、微博，甚至上网看不健康的网页，这不仅影响其他同学休息，还使自己大脑兴奋很难入睡，无法保证充足的睡眠时间，以至于第二天上课时还睡眼朦胧，无精打采。还有些学生害怕手机被发现，总是提心吊胆地偷偷使用，上课不能专心听讲，心中总是“挂念”着手机，一颗本应努力学习的心不能安静下来；更有甚者，在上课时将手机调到振动，悄悄地玩游戏、看电影或编写短信，完全置课堂学习于不顾，收到信息的同学受不住诱惑免不了回信息，也同时受到干扰。据学生反映，带手机回校的学生成绩都会下降，有一些成绩退步非常明显。
第三，学生使用手机发短信和看网络中的不良信息危害心理健康。手机短信和网页虽然便捷，但同时也是一个缺乏行为规范且隐秘性很高的“灰色地带”,其中危害最大的是黄色信息满天飞,以往多在成年人中流传的“色情笑话”等不良信息通过手机蔓延到学生中间，使这些稚嫩的心灵受到极大的污染。由于手机隐蔽性强,不易被察觉,学生长期接触不良信息,很容易形成一种心理不健康的阅读快感，继而出现不良的思想。
最后，学生使用手机，容易在学生当中诱发攀比心理。有无手机，谁的手机品牌大，都在无形中刺激了学生的虚荣心，不利于学生身心健康。有些学生甚至瞒着家长“节衣缩食”，每天只以泡面充饥，只为省下生活费购买手机，为了支付数额不低的手机通讯和上网费用，有的学生甚至将偷窃的手伸向身边的同学，以至走上违法犯罪的道路。
当看到有些同学因使用手机不当而导致学习成绩直线下滑时，我们的老师感到非常的心痛。家长朋友们，你们的孩子、我们的学生，应该在学校里学习科学文化知识，在学校里身心健康的成长，他们应该少一些外界的诱惑，多一份这个年龄本该有的蓬勃青春，但这个年龄段的.中学生大多数自制能力有限，万一误入歧途，毁掉的是孩子的学业、前途，后悔的则是我们的家长。家长朋友们，你们选择了z学校，就是把孩子的前途托付给z学校，你们希望把孩子培养成才，如果孩子因为手机耽误了学习，甚至向你们期望的相反方向发展，子女的成才梦如何能圆呢？现在独生子女的家庭占绝大多数，如果一个孩子走上错路，这个家庭就失去了100%的希望。
学校为了保证学生与家长之间畅通的联系，建立了家校联系的平台，如在校内安装了50台校讯通终端机，学生每月可以免费跟家长通话200分钟，完全可以满足学生与家长联系的需要。
