很久很久以前，在离古龙德镇很远很远的地方，有一家很古老很古老的磨坊。磨坊主名叫米歇尔，他的两个徒弟名叫马兹和斯特凡。
有时候，来磨面的村民不那么多，干完活儿，米歇尔和他的两个徒弟就忙里偷闲睡一觉。偶尔，师徒一齐动手，到水轮磨坊的引水渠里去抓鱼。
这一天。马兹运气特别好，在引水渠里逮到了一条活蹦乱跳的大梭鱼。“把它拾掇干净了，做一餐煎鱼吃，晚上干完活儿以后，咱们一起来享用它!”磨坊主米歇尔说道。
鱼煎熟了，吃的喝的全部在餐桌上摆好了，这时候也已经午夜十二点了。午夜钟响的那一刻，米歇尔叫了一声：“大家胃口好!”大家正要下刀叉时，窗口突然闪现出一个怪物。这家伙全身草绿草绿的，丑陋的脸上一双滚瓜溜圆的大眼睛，还长着一张咧到耳根的蛤蟆嘴。这是什么东西?原来是生活在引水渠里的小水怪，它平日里在芦苇丛中安身，这会儿被煎鱼的香气吸引来了。
“能分点儿给我吗?”小水怪咂着大嘴问道。
“走开，哪儿来的回哪儿去!这是我们的梭鱼，凭什么要给你?”磨坊主叫道。
米歇尔话音未落，小水怪便撞开窗户跳了进来。只见它暴怒地喘着粗气，挥舞着长了蹼膜的手掌，满头满身的水草和淤泥。它叫道：“让你们这帮吝啬鬼记得我!让你们这些小气鬼终生不要忘记!”
小水怪叫喊着开始乱扔东西，碰到什么摔打什么，煎锅与锅铲齐飞，碗碟的碎片四处飞窜，水桶被扔到墙上，罐子被踩得四分五裂。面粉瓢、破抹布、劈柴、刀叉、洗锅刷子、酒杯满室飞舞，乒乒乓乓声响成一片。
我的天!这真是一场飞来横祸!从这天起，每天夜里十二点，小水怪都会光临古龙德磨坊。午夜钟声一敲过，磨坊里就会响起摔盆打碗声、咆哮怪叫声，吵闹得无人能够得到安宁。
接连过了好几夜，磨坊主和他的两个徒弟再也无法忍受了。于是天一黑，他们就锁上磨坊门，刹停磨轮，抱上被子到附近的村子去借宿过夜。
冬末的一个傍晚，他们正要将磨坊关门落锁的时候，从乡间小路上远远过来了一个走江湖的牵熊人。
“能让我和我的熊在你们这里借宿一晚吗?”牵熊人问米歇尔道，“瞧这又冷又湿的天，没有一个住处可真受不了。”
“借宿倒是没有问题，遗憾的是我们几个晚上不能住在这里。”磨坊主把近来闹鬼的事情一五一十地告诉了牵熊人。牵熊人听了哈哈大笑道：“不能让这东西继续作祟了，您几个就瞧我们的吧!”
于是磨坊主开了门，让陌生人和他的熊进了磨坊。牵熊人就在火炉旁边的长凳上躺下身来，大狗熊就睡在他脚旁的一束麦草上。
半夜十二点的'钟声一响，那水怪不请自来!它从窗户跳进屋里，立刻开始大吵大闹，锅碗瓢盆四处乱飞，响声震天。
大狗熊和牵熊人就像什么也没听到，什么也没见到似的躺着。直到一块劈柴砸到熊鼻子的时候，它才大吼一声跳了起来，伸出巨大的熊掌劈向绿毛水怪。一瞬间，那水怪被大狗熊给吓傻了。
水怪转身想逃，却被大狗熊拦腰抱住。它拼命挣扎，撕心裂肺般尖叫，好不容易才从熊的怀抱中挣脱出来。
第二天早晨，磨坊主和他的两个徒弟从邻村回来了。牵熊人把夜里发生的事情讲给他们听，把他们惊讶得目瞪口呆。牵熊人说道：“那个阔嘴绿毛的家伙吃了这一惊肯定会牢记这个教训，它再也不敢来***扰你们了。”
磨坊主和他的徒弟们摆了一桌子极其丰盛的早餐来款待牵熊人和他的大狗熊。吃完早，餐后，牵熊人又带着他心爱的熊继续赶路了。要问去向何方，只有他们知道。
果不其然，夜间闹鬼的事儿从此戛然而止。他们又像从前一样，过上了安居乐业的生活。
又过了几个礼拜，大地已经回春，冰雪全都消融了，灌木和大树都已抽出了新叶。椋鸟回归，不久之后燕子也漫天飞舞了。
磨坊主米歇尔干完了活儿，拿上鱼竿到引水渠旁钓鱼。他正在下钩的当儿，从柳树后面的芦苇丛中钻出了一个长着满头绿毛、瞪着大眼睛和张着癞蛤蟆式的大嘴巴的怪家伙来。它开口问道：“喂!开磨坊的!那个又黑又粗长着利爪的大家伙还在你们家吗?啊?那个傻大黑粗的家伙?”
米歇尔不假思索地答道：“你问的是它呀!当然在啰!前不久它还生了八个小崽子呢!”
“哇!我的天，一个还不够，又加八个?我再去你们磨坊，不是自找苦吃嘛!你说对吗，磨坊主米歇尔?”说完，咕咚一声，水怪沉下水去不见了踪影。
从此以后，古龙德磨坊附近，再也没有闹过水怪。

nowadays, we can see some boys and girls who live in a small world of their own. they bury themselves among books and are proud of themselves. they think that it will make them lose their face if they do housework for they often think themselves very noble.
these young people are wrong. in my opinion every student should have a knowledge of housework. after all, they will have a family of their own, and they should do their part in keeping a good home. boys should also learn to do housework, for what will they do if they remain single? though not all boys remain single,yet they will be very helpful in the family if they know some housework. anyhow they will not lose anything, but, on the contrary, they will gain something useful.
for what i said above, we can find some eamples of our fellow-students studying abroad. all young men do housework as girls do. someone would argue that we can employ servants. this is true.however, what shall we do if the servant leaves us and all things are left to ourselves? we just cannot leave our clothes as they are and let worms and ants eat them up. and what can we do it we go and study in a foreign country where servants are out our means to employ? we must work for ourselves. why not start to learn to do housework now or else it will be too late? everyone should learn to do housework. what do you think about my idea, boys and girls?
