我非常有幸能够来到世界著名的医学学府—卡洛琳斯卡大学进修学习。一到这里，即被这里浓郁、严谨、平等的学术气氛所吸引、所感染。在这里，没有学术权威和小辈之分，在科学面前人人平等，都有发表自己见解和观点的权利与空间；有时为了一个小小的问题，学生会与大教授争论不休，毫无畏惧权威之意。我所在的科室每周二都有组会，这是一个大家相互学习交流的好机会。每周由一个研究者主讲自己最近的科研进展，然后，就是最热烈的时刻，大家毫无保留各抒己见、畅所欲言，对当天的主讲者提出各种各样的.问题和建议。我通过这样的学术交流，也收获颇多，不仅提高了自己的英文能力，而且也常常能捕捉到被我忽略的、而却非常有用的信息，使我在研究中茅塞顿开，更好地促进了下一步的研究工作。在这里，研究人员一般都比较敬业，比如我们实验室有位老太太实验员因为要进行动物实验，每天早上很早就到单位开始工作，如果实验没有结束，她也不会因干满八小时而下班，从她这里改变了我原来对欧洲人的印象，即比较懒散。
在瑞典工作学习的日子，接触了不少博士生，了解了瑞典培养研究生的制度。在瑞典对博士生的要求很高，除了修满40-80学分外，博士论文还必须包含至少4篇在国际期刊和主要国际会议上发表的文章；此外，博士生还必须承担20%的助教任务。博士生的文章被SCI等等录用，导师一般会资助他们参加几次国际会议。我想这是一个非常好的激励机制，更有利于培养高质量的研究生，也值得我们国内借鉴。

瑞典是北欧最大的国家，她的自然环境和社会人文环境是世界一流的，常被评为全球最宜居的国家之一。瑞典以干净整洁著称，首都斯德哥尔摩是“北方威尼斯”，城中河流相当清澈，如此干净整洁的环境与瑞典先进的垃圾分类处理密不可分。在国内的时候是什么垃圾都塞进一个塑料袋里完事；而在瑞典，对垃圾分类的意识从儿童时期便开始培养，垃圾分类也特别细，有的还要送到指定的地点。刚来的时候我还真很不习惯，但过了一段时间后觉得垃圾分类确实很有必要。

I have known Mr. Wang since his sophomore year of college?and have acted as his thesis advisormentor. In my experience?he is a gifteddiligent student?and an admirably hard worker.
Wang is an impressive student because he has been forced to overcome the significant challenge of a serious illness during his freshman year. When I first met Wang in my Discrete Math class?he did not appear to be anything special to me. While his exam scores were good?they were not as high as I would now expect of him.
What I didn't know then was that due to his illness?Wang was attempting to take all of the difficult early mathematics courses at one time?including Discrete Mathematics?Advanced Mathematics?Linear Algebra?and Possibilities. 阿文说，他每次回国前，手机就响个不停，亲戚朋友总央求他带这带那，这些东西或是价格较国内便宜，或是国内没得卖，或只因是“外国货”。
小鱼：在国外，你帮朋友带得最多的东西是什么？
阿文：各种都有。帮热衷甜食的朋友带过巧克力；朋友里好多热爱运动的，会让我带一些很有名的球队的球鞋、球衣，有时甚至会带袜子；还带过电脑，因为一些国外牌子的`电脑在国内卖得比较贵，在国外买则会便宜一些。

阿文：其实，现在大部分产品国内都可以买得到，这对我选择礼物也是个很大的困扰，回国之前一般都要出去逛好几次，看到我觉得新鲜的东西就赶紧买下。我跟你讲一个我买过的最有意思的东西，因为我有一个女性朋友非常喜欢野营，但是每次在郊外上厕所就会感觉特别不方便，我就给她买了个野外上厕所的收集袋，里面有石灰粉，用完可以当垃圾带走，既不会有味道，也不会污染环境。
小鱼：我听过，好多演员在野外拍戏时也会用到。
阿文：对。其实这一类稀奇古怪的东西，日本是最多的，我的同学还买过新鲜空气吸收器，把器材一端套在植物上，一端套在嘴上，像呼吸器一样。其实买这些东西主要是为了好玩。
小鱼：有没有带什么东西会被拦下来的？
阿文：我倒没有这样的经历，不过我还真在机场碰过一次，有个亚洲旅客回国带了一些肉制品，被检查出来，因为这种生鲜类的规定都比较严格。
