有一天，老虎在森林中散步，它看见几只小动物们凑在一起，好像在谈论着什么。他悄悄躲到一棵大树旁，侧耳倾听，只听小白兔说：“我是亲眼看见狐狸妈妈生小狐狸的，他根本不是什么老天爷派来管理百兽的。”小猴子接着说：“我一点儿也不怕狐狸，我只怕他身后的那只大老虎。”老虎这下恍然大悟，气不打一处来，决定要找狐狸来问个明白。
说来也巧，狐狸正好也途经这里，只见它昂首阔步，嘴里还哼着小曲！老虎迎上去假装热情地说：“狐狸，你好啊！”没等狐狸应答，老虎已经扑过去，把狐狸踩在脚下，狐狸吓得不轻，忙问：“老虎大哥，有话好说，今天这是怎么啦？”老虎恶狠狠地说：“上次为什么要欺骗我？”狡猾的狐狸知道老虎已经知道真相了，就老老实实地说：“其实呀，上次我不想死，因为我正在为您做一台烤肉机器，这样，大王您就不用捕猎了，只要在家里睡睡觉、看看电视，就能享用美餐，多舒服呀！”
老虎半信半疑，说：“真的假的？”狐狸陪着笑脸说：“我怎么会骗你呢！你想想如果把羊、兔等家伙放进烤肉机器里，那味道你想想会有多美妙！”此时的老虎已经垂涎欲滴了，爪子也不由得松开了，狐狸见状，溜之大吉。
过了好一会儿，老虎才缓过神来，自言自语道：“我怎么又轻信了这狡猾的狐狸呢！”
