一个春天的早晨，小黑兔、小黄兔和小白兔结伴来到了森林里的小河边玩耍。正玩得开心的时候，一只大老虎悄悄地向小兔子们靠近，它露出锋利的爪子，张开血盆大口想吃掉小兔子们。小兔子们发现后撒腿就跑。
这时候，在河里洗澡的大象哥哥看到眼前的一幕，知道了小兔子们有危险，它连忙站在河的中央，先是伸长鼻子，接着又把尾巴高高翘起，立刻搭成了一座桥。它对小兔子们说：“快来，快点到我这里来。”于是，小兔们快速地跳到大象哥哥身上，依次从大象哥哥的鼻子、背部、尾巴跳到了河对岸。老虎看到自己追不到小兔子们，气得哇哇大叫。但它还想继续追赶，一下跳进了河里，大象哥哥立马把鼻子伸进河里吸足了水，用力地喷向老虎，把它喷得落花流水。老虎见情况不妙赶紧逃跑了。
小兔子们高兴地欢呼着：“大象哥哥真厉害，谢谢你救了我们！”

这次，大象去巡山，没发现什么异常的情况，却看了一些好山好水。他拿着自己的相机，边走路边拍照。突然，镜头被挡住了，只听到“啊——”的一声惨叫。大象校长定睛一看，原来是一头野猪不小心掉进了“狼井”里。狼井是大狼奶奶为了找到自己的小孙子而挖掘的，狼奶奶的小孙子已经离家出逃好几个月了，他不喜欢狼奶奶严厉的管束，也不愿意总是写那些没完没了的作业。狼奶奶的眼睛因为想念小孙子哭得看不清东西了，她就挖了这么一个陷阱，只要路过这里的动物，狼奶奶都要确认一番才能放行。
大象把野猪从陷阱里拽出来，一起去见大狼奶奶，谁知，大狼奶奶在他们身上摸索了一番之后，放走了野猪，却死死拉住大象校长，对他说：“我可怜的孙子啊，我狠心的孙子啊，你一去不回都十二年了，这么些年你去哪儿了？”
原来，大狼奶奶太想念自己的孙子了，他听到大象和蔼亲切的声音，出现了幻觉，料定是自己的亲孙子回来了。
大象想：狼奶奶是爱孙心切，不如自己先和狼奶奶相认，等找到了狼孙子再做打算。
于是，大象把巡山的任务交给了斑马老师，自己现在狼奶奶家住了下来，照顾失明的狼奶奶。

大象看多不看这个老鼠洞，就去抓另外一只老鼠了。这时躲进老鼠洞的老鼠又调皮的跑了出来。抓了整整一天，连一只老鼠的毛也没碰到，大象伤心地把这话告诉了老猫。老毛一听，二话没说就把他给炒鱿鱼了。这份工作不适合它，大象垂头丧气地回到家里，还不时的鼓励自己不要泄气，还可以再找一份工作的。
下午，大象兴高采烈的来到游泳区边。穿上游泳衣，跳进水里，可是刚下去，游泳池的水溢了出来，让别的小动物都不能游泳了。大象站起来，一看，啊!水只剩下一点点了，大象失望的低下了头。大象说：‘‘我一定能找到工作的。
大象怀着激动的心来到消防地区。警报响了，大象吸了满满一鼻子的水，来到着火的地方。水一喷，过不了多久大象每一天都乐呵呵的，因为它已经找到了适合自己的工作。
