So people call it Mountain City。 In Chong Qing，I went to the Red Stone Center， to see the places which the prisoners lived in the past。 It is a terrible and awful trip。 There are a lot of dogs， and soldiers with guns near the prisons。 And most of the prisons are good， they didn't want to tell the bad people where the other people were。 They lived in very small houses。 No good food to eat， no good water to drink。They had only twenty minutes to stay out side per day but they still said nothing。
I think they are the heros in that century。 I will follow their spirit。

As the winter vacation is drawing near, I have a plan about my vacation. I'm going to do what I want to do. I'm going to study harder in order to get good grades in the following term. After finishing all my homework, I'm going to enjoy myself in the sea of knowledge. Reading must be a good idea. I'm going to keep fit at the same time. I'll get up eary in the morning everyday and play sports. I really love sports. Besides that, Eating a balanced diet is also good for my health. I'm going to help my mom and dad with the housework as well in the vacation.I'll learn to cook. As for travelling, I'm planning to go to Hainan. But whether going there or not will be decided on the weather.During the vacation,I'm going to learn more about history,as I'm really poor on it.

影片一开始描述了在17世纪之前，美洲大陆还是一片远古森林，草原上有大群的动物，有着广阔的原野。随着第一批欧洲移民的到来，美国最早的人民就在这里扎了根，从反抗英国的殖民压迫，到追求财富和梦想，美国带着一股不可阻挡的气势发展着，使自己的梦想成真，建设了强大的国家。在不断地征服自然或者非自然的阻力之后，美国在这些富有冒险精神的子民的努力下显现出了他现在模样。
横亘东西的铁路，连接大西洋与五大湖区的运河，洛杉矶的引水渠，耗费夸张的胡佛大坝以及四通八达的高速公路网等这些浩大的工程造就了美国的强大，凝聚了美国人的民族向心力，当然也凝结了美国各色人等的血泪与汗水。但是这些在当时世界绝无仅有的浩大工程非但没有给我们劳民伤财的映像，倒成了美国精神的某种体现。这个国家在这样一群人的呵护下，建立了城市卫生系统用，治安系统以及医疗系统，逐渐成为了一个现代化的样本国家，在不断地茁壮成长。 影片中美国人的战争观给我的映像也很特别，他们对世界第一强国时的那种淡定从容，坚韧无畏。面对与南方的制度对抗的时候的那种为维护自由理想而义无反顾的责任感以及二战中举国一致，同仇敌忾，慷慨赴死的大无畏精神。片中的民众几乎和政府从来没有过什么冲突，政府一直在维护民众的利益而民众也一直在支持着政府，直到那场为纯意识形态而爆发的越战开始后，美国的新一代则显示出美国精神中追求真理，坚持信仰的一面。再加上那始终贯穿本片在战争中对非裔美国人不断地的肯定与赞扬，使我对这个民族有了更深刻的'印象。 美国历史上三位总统对推进美国的发展发挥巨大的作用，华盛顿、林肯、罗斯福。
早期美国常年受到英国殖民者的压迫，奋起反抗，但伤亡惨重，美国革命一度陷入窘境。当时，广大革命者在山里，条件艰苦，士兵几乎衣不蔽体，但华盛顿知人善用，最终士兵们打破了传统的作战方式以打游击的形式打倒了当时强大的英国国军队。
林肯，我认为他之所以率领北方军队在南北战争中获得最终的胜利，主要在于他对前线战士的供给及时充足。在南北战争期间他组织建立了强大的电报网以及几乎纵横北美大陆的铁路网。而南方却正是因为铁路的匮乏，供给不足导致其最终的失败。
美国的经济得以如此迅速的发展，我觉得是得益于战争。为供给前线战士，使得美国的纺织业、制造业得到空前的发展。而日本袭击珍珠港之后，美国几乎全民自发的投入到战争供给的制造业中。当然，美国之所以像如今这么强大，还因为美国人都有一种人定胜天的信念，以及团结一心的精神。
影片中除了对民族的自我褒扬之外，还充满了对自身问题的反省。比如对印第安人的驱逐和对非裔美国人的不公正待遇以及破坏生态系统对美洲野牛的灭绝式的屠***等等。这才是一个成熟的民族应该做到的事，好的事不谦虚，不做作，不好的事，不隐瞒，不回避。我们观看了影片从中了解了美国的发展史，了解了美国文化，从中学习了很多有用的知识。
