当天色逐渐转黑，车站几乎无人时，我的那辆公交车才开着车灯姗姗来迟。此时，已经是六点半了。从学校到我家的'公交车只有一路，二十分钟一班。以前都是妈妈来接我，前几天她天天开会，让我自己回家。所以，今天我想都没想就出来等车了。错过了六点那一班，我只好再等二十分钟。
正值下班高峰期，车子在车流中也是堵了又堵，大家都十分烦躁。一个孩子的哭声增加了人们的不安，他只有两三岁光景，像我的弟弟一般大。他肯定是饿了！车厢越来越拥挤，空气闷得令人窒息。此时，弟弟一定是吃饱饭在妈妈怀里撒娇了。弟弟很可爱，自从他出生后，妈妈的魂都被他牵走了。以前，我是妈妈心中的唯一，可是，现在不一样了！要不是因为弟弟，妈妈多晚都会来接我的。想到这里，我心里空落落的。
好不容易下了车，在夜色中步入小区，我摁响了楼宇的电话。居然是第一时间得到响应！我上了楼，钥匙刚插进门锁还没转动，门就开了。妈妈扑上来，一把将我抱住：“哦。天啊！你到底去哪儿了？我们都差点报警了！”“啊？”我一时懵了，半天才挤出一个字。
“你放学为什么不打电话！我们还以为你去哪儿了！你要是再晚一点回来我们就去报警了！我们让老师再全校广播，你没听见吗？”妈妈情绪很是激动。“广播？”我忽然想起来，刚才在车站还有同学对我说老师找我，我不当一回事……这时爸爸说话了：“你不知道啊，***妈刚才去你学校那儿转了好几圈，来回几趟都没有结果，真是急死人了！”
我不知自己的一次迟归，在爸爸妈妈那里，却是一件惊天动地的大事！望着父母心疼和责备的眼神，我心里满是愧疚。弟弟过来拉我的衣袖，我抱起他，亲了亲。
贴着弟弟的脸蛋，再看父母逐渐绽放的笑脸，几分甜蜜悄然涌上心头：原来，在他们心中，我竟是如此重要，不可取代！
