成熟是一个人价值观的完善，成熟的人明白自己在生命中该实现什么，该为他人实现什么。随之，成熟也就意味着懂得承担责任。成熟意味着看清自己，认清他人，意味着严于律己，宽以待人……这些都是果意识到而花却从没有想过的。关注表面的美是典型的以自我为中心，而成熟却是目光长远、心胸开阔而头脑深邃的。成熟也许表面看去平平淡淡，然而却是成为一个更完善的人的必要条件。因此在表面的美与成熟之间，我们应该选择成熟。
果从前花谢的时候，必定心如刀绞过；因为果在花谢之前，必定也像花一样，曾将自己的美引以为自豪过。人也一样。从幼稚的对视觉美的向往，到对品质和内涵的注重；从“为赋新词强说愁”的以自我为中心，到心怀广远，兼济天下；从朝气蓬勃的青年，到形容枯槁的老者……人在时间的磨砺和不断地失去中不断获得；在童年不再、韶华逝去中遗憾和心痛，却一天天变得更成熟与平和。因为在这个过程中人悟到了人生重心不在表面的美上，不在花所在意的肤浅的悲喜妍媸上，而在于人的内核。花会谢，人的容颜会变，但坚定的信念、人生的准则等却可以不变质，人的内在价值可以不贬值——这就是人的成熟。犹如花变果，人的成熟必定会遭遇痛苦，但正因痛苦人才更坚强，更淡定，生命才不会如薄纸一张。由此看来，如今很多已过成熟年龄的人内心却不甚成熟。在盲目追求“花”的同时，失掉了“果”的深厚内涵和智慧。
果因成熟变得更甘甜，更芳香，因此，成熟本身又何尝不是一种美呢？成熟的美更慑人心魄，更有力量。它是一个人生命本真的馨香，是宠辱不惊的智慧光芒，也是勇于承担、坚强隐忍的心灵力量。正如一个国家，它表面的山清水秀、地大物博，最多只能成就一个旅游胜地；真正让世界记住她名字的，是她的人民和文化；是她在磨砺与苦难之后所显现的民族性格；是她应对危难的.成熟，还是她穷不笑人有，富不笑人无的胸襟——这是一个成熟的国家，这是真的以美震撼人心的民族。也正如昭君，她的容貌只是她美的附属，美的外套；她心中为国担当的成熟，她眷恋回望的眼神和坚定前行的脚步，她那遥远的、朴素的青冢，才在后人心中美得永恒。
