一只丑陋无比的丑小鸭，在养鸭场孵化了。笨拙的身子，杂色的羽毛，相貌与别的小鸭不同，因而成为全体鸡鸭嘲笑的对象，最后被迫离家出走。沼泽地的遇险，农家小屋的歧视，虽然到了一个适合生活的农家，但为了走到更广阔的天地，去寻找和追求自己心中的梦想，它还是选择了离开。在经历了种种困难和挫折后，它终于脱胎换骨，变成了一只引人注目的白天鹅。丑小鸭经历了重重困境，它都坚持挺过来了，最终实现了梦想。的确，温室里的花儿经不起风雨的洗礼，不经历风雨难以见彩虹。困境即是磨砺，丑小鸭虽然遇到许多困境，但它并不为此而放弃自己的梦想，它忍辱负重、坚持不懈，依靠坚强的毅力走出失败，成就梦想。
丑小鸭的故事不禁让我想起自己一段相似的难忘的经历。
两年前，一次国画作品展览中，那一幅幅充满着民族艺术风格的作品深深吸引了我，在父母的努力下，我有幸成为一名大师手下的学生。初学国画，面对老师的授课，我似懂非懂，陌生而别扭的握笔方法我很不适应，提起笔来手不住地颤抖，柔软的`笔尖更是不听使唤，我很烦恼。看着同班的同学两节课能完成2－3幅画，可我只能勉强完成一幅画，期末的过级考试大多数人都过了4级，而我只过了2级，看到和我在同一条起跑线的同学们都纷纷进入中级班深造，而
我还在初级班原地踏步，我梦想的航船好像偏离了航向，我的梦想似乎也在离我而去……
生性要强的我不甘心就此放弃，经过一番痛苦的挣扎，我重新调整好状态，每节课更加认真地听讲，反复地模仿，每次作业完成都要老师讲评指点，我对自己的优点缺点有了正确的认识，我画起画来更投入，进步也越来越明显，课余时间我还经常向老师请教。不知不觉中，我的技艺提高了，我对自己也有信心了，又一次过级考试中，班上只有两个人过了六级，我就是其中的一个，当鲜红的证书发到我手中时，我流下了高兴的泪水。
古人说得好，宝剑锋从磨砺出，梅花香自苦寒来。看来，要想收获，就要耕耘，成功是一个漫长的过程，需要汗水的浇灌，需要毅力的支撑，需要耐心的等待。成功者与失败者的差别只是成功者坚持到了最后，失败者提前放弃了追求的目标。所以，只有为了梦想而坚韧不拔，不断追求的人才能获得成功。

The novel goes through five distinct stages: Jane's childhood at Gateshead, where she is abused by her aunt and cousins; her education at Lowood School, where she acquires friends and role models but also suffers privations; her time as the governess of Thornfield Manor, where she falls in love with her Byronic employer, Edward Rochester; her time with the Rivers family at Marsh's End (or Moor House and Morton, where her cold clergyman-cousin St John Rivers proposes to her; and her reunion with and marriage to her beloved Rochester at his house of Ferndean. Partly autobiographical, the novel abounds with social criticism and sinister gothic elements.
