今天，小猫又提着小鱼桶，带着小鱼杆，雄赳赳气昂昂的去钓鱼了。它回想着上次因为贪玩，一条鱼都没有钓到的情景，准备一雪前耻。
小猫在河边坐下，把小鱼桶放在旁边，再把小鱼饵勾上去，往远处一抛，静静地等待着，一分钟、两分钟、三分钟……整整过了三十分钟，还是没有鱼儿上钩。小猫有一点不耐烦了，看着平静的河面，准备到另一边去玩儿，就在这时，鱼杆动了一下。小猫激动地赶紧把鱼线收紧，再拉起来，果然有一条小鱼上钩了。小猫把鱼拿下来，再把鱼桶装一点水把鱼放进去。
