秋天的落叶嘲笑冬天的落叶，嘲笑他们是胆小鬼，害怕死亡；冬天的落叶也嘲笑秋天的落叶，嘲笑它们是胆小鬼，害怕坚持。
秋天的落叶辱骂冬天的落叶，辱骂它们是忘恩负义的小人，不肯用自己的生命，来报答大树的养育之恩；冬天的落叶也辱骂秋天的落叶，辱骂它们是忘恩负义的小人，不肯用自己的坚持，来陪伴大树走过冬天！
秋天的落叶笑了，它们说：“你们到了冬天还是要落下！”
冬天的落叶也笑了，它们说：“可你们现在已经早早落下！”
秋天的落叶又笑了：“至少我们这些落叶是在一起的，我们不孤单！”
冬天的落叶也笑了：“我们这些未落下的叶子有大树陪伴，我们更不孤单！”
就这样，秋天的落叶与冬天的落叶争吵不休，它们互相嘲笑，互相辱骂！
直到有一天，大树醒来，他听到了秋天的落叶与冬天的落叶的争吵，他笑了，他哈哈大笑：“每一片叶子都是一个生命，每一片叶子都有自己与众不同的地方，每一片叶子都有自己的选择，这是每一片叶子自己的事，不需要外人来参与，也不需要他人来说三道四。”
于是，秋天的落叶继续选择在秋天落下；冬天的落叶继续选择在秋天坚持，只是，它们都不再说话，只是默默地做出自己的选择！
