尼克.胡哲先天残疾，没手，没脚，父母曾想不要他，但父母不忍心，又留了下来。他十岁时曾想过自***，因为同学们都对他有一样的眼光，但他还被救下了，以后还有几次，但他都用顽强的意志克服了困难。他有一个愿望，就当上演说家，但他资问了200多个学院都没要他去演说时，他依然坚持不懈，继续打电话，他用自己的毅力成为了走访上百万城市演讲的演说家。他的经历我们从来遇不到的，他的感受我们感受不到的，他的心里我们填补不了的。
尼克.胡哲的人生经历比苦菜还苦，他用自己的经历告诉我们，不要用一样的眼光去看残疾人，要尊重他们，要坚持不懈，也不要半途而废，"不经历点风雨哪会见彩虹"，"只要功夫深铁棒磨成针"，我们要学到长处补自己的短处。
尼克.胡哲虽没有腿、脚、手、胳膊，但他一位喜爱运动的人和要比普通人生活能力要强的人，他可以踢球、打高尔夫球、打篮球......每天早晨起来，他都会以迅速的速度穿上衣服、刷牙、洗脸......，他无所不能，算一位超人了吧!
