以前，古色古香的水乡总使人沉浸在那古朴中。现在，现代建筑遍布常熟城，农村商业银行的大厦雄伟壮观，中南世纪城的美丽奢华……这些新建筑，穿插在水乡城市中，这种巧妙的结合，使我们的家乡更加美丽。
沙家浜可谓是我们家乡的一颗明珠。江南水乡的房屋白砖黑瓦，永远树立在我们心中。现在，在这些古老的建筑中也融入了新科技吸引着我们的眼球：沿着河走去，射击游戏、喷泉等让我们看到了新变化。
市中的旁边，一座雄伟的大楼拔地而起，那就是农村商业银行的常熟总部！一个个长方形的楼层突起，其它又是凹进去的，看上去很时尚，到了晚上，一条条灯光闪烁在大楼上，给大楼增添了许多美感。旁边一条古老的河流缓缓地流淌，低拂的.柳树让我们看到了水乡的旖旎。一个既富涵现代科技特色，又蕴含了江南水乡韵味的常熟。
