郭冬临在95年春节联欢晚会上表演了一个小品，叫《有事您说话》，这个小品表现的是一个小人物的一些故事，看似平常，但留给我们的思索却是深刻的，小品中的郭子在领导、同事、朋友面前吹牛，自称很有能力，能买到火车卧铺票，于是，人们纷纷找他来买票，其实那都是他排队排来的，甚至有一次排队买票，偏偏到他这票已经卖光；不得已只得花钱买了两张高价票，至于为什么这样做，他自己的解释是：“咱不能让人说咱无能！”
折腾了一番之后，他在老婆的教育下终于醒悟，那就是“踏踏实实干事，老老实实做人，谁也不会瞧不起咱们”，可是他明白过来之后又去排队买票了，因为他在他的朋友老牛面前夸了海口，说买了两张卧铺票，正巧他的朋友身边又多了三个人要出差，所以他还得继续他“打肿脸充胖子”的艰苦历程。
小品到这就结束了，但它给我们的思考却还在继续，“有事您说话”一句看似简单的话，其实折射了中国人的普遍心态，就是“面子”心态，很多人在生活中都在做着这样“明知不可为而为之”或在旁人看来本来可以不用那样做的事情，但被问及为什么这样做时，所有的回答是：“不这样做面子上过不去！”一句话把中国人的这种心态表露无疑。
虽然很多人都知道“面子”本来算不得什么事，但一遇到这样的事情的时候他还得这样做，如果不这样做，他的面子就丢尽了，我们平时老听说“颜面扫地”这个词，其实就是这种不良心态的一个体现，换句话说，其实我们每个人都在戴着一个假面具，除了在家庭中我们可以把这个假面具摘掉以外，在家庭以外我们都得戴着它，其实这是一种心理脆弱的表现。
小品中的“郭子”只是位剧情中的虚构人物，但其生活原形却遍及天涯海角，换句话说，只要有中国人的地方，就免不了有这种好面子的人存在；也许我们应该理解他们的苦衷，但是殊不知这样做只能令你身心俱疲，与其戴着面具做人，还不如摘掉面具，做一个真实的自己，那样我们心灵的天空将是一片风和日丽，我们也会轻松过好每一天。
我们靠着“面子”也许会得到一些我们得不到的东西，比如那种“振臂一呼，应者云集”的豪迈，但我们要知道，这只是暂时的，它不过是一个美丽而虚幻的彩虹，或者是色彩斑澜的肥皂泡，当一切结束之后，我们又会陷入孤独、甚至是自责当中，甚至还会扪心自问：“我这是为了什么呀！”小品中的郭子也是在经历了一系列磨难之后发出了这样的感叹，不管是生活中的我们还是小品中的'郭子，如果我们在发出这样的感叹之后明白自己应该干什么，不该干什么，简言之就是摆正自己的位置，那么，我们戴在头上的这个假面具将会彻底被摘掉。
还是那句话，摆正自己的位置，摆正自己的心态，一个人无论从事什么工作，都得明白自己姓啥，叫啥，算老几，一天吃几碗干饭，做好自己该做的事，我们都读过朱军的《时刻准备着》，书中有这样一句话，叫“得意时淡然，失意时坦然”，这句话告诉我们，不管是成功还是失败，都要以一个平和的心态去面对，不要自我膨胀，当然也不要刻意去伪装自己，那样我们会活得很累，我们只要开心过好每一天，快乐生活，努力工作，以一个乐观平和的心态面对一切，这就足够了。
我看不起妄自尊大，但我也不赞成妄自菲薄，更不赞成打肿脸充胖子，自尊者人必尊之，自贱者人必贱之；只要我们在自己的岗位上努力工作，自然会得到应有的回报，是金子总会发光，时间将会证明一切，到那时我们将会得到真正的尊重。
