作为佛弟子，我们信奉并恪守佛陀的教言：“一切众生皆平等，皆有佛性，皆为过去父母、未来诸佛。”故佛弟子普遍奉行不***生，不伤及一切众生、动物生命。也有很多佛弟子自觉自愿长期严格素食，拒食一切动物，肉、蛋、奶，不用动物皮、毛，一切身份，无疑这是非常难得的。反思心灵深处，很多人虽然也严格食素，但仍认为(虽然是不经意地我的生命、人比动物高贵，这也仅仅因为自己是人，以人为中心放大自我的一种偏见。这让我们傲慢地自居高地，俯视同为生命的动物，而没有真正从内心深处建立平等，否则为什么家家厨房餐桌每日屠***百千万亿众生血肉，而我们也如他人一样，选择忽视沉默呢?
当读完《世界和平饮食》，出门正看到一只小黑狗自顾自玩耍，我竟如发现新大陆一般眼前一亮，生命的美感通过它传递给我。再看一切昆虫、微生物，也有了全新的觉受，会欣赏感动，生命是平等的，佛性是平等的。
随着我们对生命平等的感悟，我们的心量会越见扩大，内心的喜悦会加深，也会更平静。自我以个人为中心不断向外放大而有了不同的表现，当它只是个人层面的自我，很容易察觉，过于自我的人在大众中不受欢迎;但随着自我的放大，便越来越难觉察。先是放大到家庭，共同的家庭成员必然维护这个家庭自我，再放大到团体、种族、国家、性别、宗教、人类，也就成了超级自我。所有人都迷在其中，而又极力维护的。这种人类集体的自我中心主义，力量之强大、形式的迷惑几乎无人可挡，无人可识，所以才有所有人类合谋集体屠***同为生命的动物以满人类口腹之欲的行为，却对其不合理视而不见并编造种种理由。有人说，人类最大的罪过便是人类中心主义。(我越来越坚信，人类最严重的罪过之一就是人类中心论。——马修·福克斯一点不假，佛说我执无明是造罪的根源，唯有破除人我执、法我执，达致人无我、法无我，才是解脱。

One day, Paula and Richard decided to make a kite.
First they went out and found two straight sticks of the same length. They brought them back home and tied them with a piece of string into the shape of a cross. Then they took some string and used it to tie the four ends of the sticks together. Then, they spread some brightly coloured paper over the frame and glued it around the string.They stuck a tail made of paper to one of the corners, and tied a long string to the centre of the kite.
On the next windy day, they took the kite to a hill near their house and flew it.
一天，保罗和理查德决定做一个风筝。
