When I first saw 'The Truman Show' I came out of the theatre amazed. This is your first clue that you are watching something different from your normal Jim Carrey movie. I love the dialogue, camera shot, performances, direction, music, and running time of this movie. There is nothing I would do to change it. I came away from 'The Truman Show' feeling inspired which is the goal of good filmmaking Jim Carrey was outstanding as Truman, underplaying him, not making him too comic or too dramatic, but giving true sincerity when asked. He deserved an Oscar nomination. Ed Harris has always been a good actor, but in this movie he's a great actor. He plays Christof with such arrogance and bullheadedness that you don't know whether he's helping or destroying Truman. He and the director, Peter Weir, deserved their Oscar nods.
Weir, who directed the great 'Witness', uses different camera angles to make you feel like you're actually watching 'The Truman Show' and not a movie. He ends it before you get tired of the concept and helped Carrey and Harris give immaculate performances. Andrew Niccol script is a real star in the movie too because of it's inventiveness and ingenuity. Overall, 'The Truman Show' is what I like to call a true American classic.

经过了三年的理论学习，使我们对平面设计有了基本掌握，对于平面设计这个专业也有了一个系统的学习和掌握。我们即将离开大学校园，作为平面设计专业的毕业生，心中想得更多的是如何去做好一个平面设计师、如何更好的去完成每一个设计任务。
在实践过程中，我深深地感受到作为设计师通常缺乏足够的市场和管理上的，做出的设计作品经常会与市场经济脱节;而作为管理者通常缺乏设计基础和审美能力，往往为了追求市场效益，过多地拘束设计师的思维与创新，忽略了设计要素的重要性，造成了设计的庸俗化。
设计管理这个专业在中国也仅有几岁的生命，这是中国设计行业走向成熟后必然要出现的新的研究领域。而我们正是应社会发展的需要而出现的综合型人才，不仅对基础设计理论能够熟练的运用，对管理学、市场营销、财务管理等各个方面也都有了初步掌握。我们的目标是成为一名真正的设计师，在设计与管理两者之间找到最好的平衡点。
所以仅仅通过在学校所学的理论知识是远远不够的，这就需要我们去实践，走进设计公司，将所学理论与实践相结合，这也是我们这次实践课程的目的。
xx年1月7日，我通过哥哥的关系进入到家乡当地的印天广告公司进行了为期一个月的实践活动，进行学习。任职初级平面设计师，印天广告公司属于典型本土小公司用通俗的话就是路边的小图文社：小规模、业务少。其公司主要有卖场设计、喷绘广告设计和墙体广告、cis策划导入等几部分业务组成。
第一天来到公司，不知道该做些什么，什么也插不上手，只是这里看看，那里逛逛，最终还是老板给我指了条路，让我用photoshop和coreldraw软件模仿教程做一些简单的图片，终于找到事情做了，于是我就乖乖的做起了图片。说实话我以前在学校的时候也这样做过，不过效果没有这么好，因为以前一遇到难的或不懂的就停下来不做了，而现在有师傅(另外一家公司老板兼资深平面设计师在旁边，有不懂的就问，这使我受益非浅。
这次实践，我把精力主要集中于与广告有关的工具软件上，因为在学校，老师不止一次对我们强调实践的重要性、强调技能的重要性。在当今社会形势下，学历并不能作为评价一个人的唯一标准，而当今社会更加注重人们的技能与能力。所以，我对photoshop、3dmax、adobe等系列软件有了一个初探，熟悉这些与广告制作有关的软件，亲自动手参与到公司的广告制作上，给了我很大的锻炼。先从软件的学习上说起吧，我学习的重点软件是photoshop，因为广告公司里(广告公司工作总结，许多广告平面设计和制作都是由photoshop来完成的，因此我首先熟悉了一下基本的操作，公司还派了师傅来教我，师傅一开始并没有带着我工作，而是叫我先在photoshop上制作一件作品，仗着以前学过一点专业知识，我按着师傅的要求，兴致勃勃的操作起来，一个小时过去了，我却发现连第一个要求都没达标，以前的知识在实践中却不那么好使，连连碰壁的我只好求教师傅，他对我说我：“很多大专甚至中专的学生都对photoshop了如指掌，比你们这些大学生强多了”，我很是惭愧，原来师傅就是中专毕业，这让我对大专的职业教育有了新的看法，也让我更加意识到现今社会竞争的激烈。后来，师傅手把手教我操作photoshop的技巧，不仅帮我复习了以往的知识，也让我学会了很多操作手法。
接下来的几天，我在师傅身旁跟着他学习制作广告作品，每天一大早，师傅就拿着工作单查看今天的工作任务，在制作的过程中还不时的与客户保持电话联系，师傅和我说，制作一件广告平面作品，自己的创意和兴趣固然很重要，但是一定要在客户的指定范围内，切不可随心所欲的按自己的喜好来制作，一切要以客户的利益为准，“客户要我们怎么做，我们就怎么做”。不过在制作过程中还要随机应变，根据具体情况与客户协商作品的风格、样式、表现手法等，这是一整套看似简单，但操作起来复杂的工作流程。听了师傅的这番讲解，我初步了解了广告作品从设计到完成的一系列过程，也加深了对广告行业的认识，虽然只是一个小小的广告公司，却给我好好上了一课。 在此期间我通过简单的技能帮本地民政局设计了宣传招贴，为一些私营户设计简单的名片外部设计 海报等等，通过为客户的服务及客户的本身的要求我才明白设计师本身在满足客户要求前是不能有创意的，这也是小型公司的利与弊，太新潮了别人接受不了。你只能按照客户的要求做出他直到满意的作品不含艺术性只求实在
跟着师傅几天了，终于能让我自己独立练习了，先是模仿师傅以前的历史作品，然后是制作些简单的作品，例如铜牌、横幅、简单的海报，不过别看这些东西简单，其实制作都是有严格规定的，长、宽、高、规格、比例、字体等，一样都不得有偏差，这项任务既考验耐心又锻炼技术。实践的时间过得真的很快，转眼一个星期过去了，第二个星期的星期一，我终于可以正式为客户制作广告作品了，这让我激动不已。任务是：制作一张婚宴座次排放表，样式没有特别的要求，喜庆吉祥就行。于是，我上网下了好几个婚庆模板，选择了一个最好的开始修改制作，利用photoshop做出花纹图案和桌子的简图，再将桌子按顺序一一排好，点缀上吉祥漂亮的花纹，再将背景修改一下，打上文字，最后就完工了。送交到师傅那，他看了看，对我说还有很多错误，我很惊讶，明明我很努力认真的制作，怎么还有瑕疵那?师傅对疑惑的我指出了几点错误。首先，最大的错误就是婚宴桌子的排放，我对婚宴啊什么的，这些风俗和讲究不是很熟悉，桌子的排放应该按照主桌、家人、亲戚、朋友等依次排列，要有先后和尊卑，朝向和桌子的摆放组合也很有讲究，朝向就是要选个吉利的方向，桌子的摆放有很多组合，要根据主办方的要求和桌子的数目，进行精致的组合摆放。第二，就是我的海报做的还是不够精纯，有些地方不够仔细美观，而且没有标注桌子的序号，也没有加上酒店的标识，这些都是要注意的。经过师傅的指点，大改了一番后，终于完成了。这件事也让我知道，光是学好广告的专业知识是远远不够的，广告是涉及社会各个方面的社会科学，包括了很多专业以外的知识，例如经济、营销(营销实践工作总结等，在学好专业知识的基础上，还要扩展自己的社会经验和各方面的知识，把知识学杂了，成为一个“杂家”，对今后的工作是很有帮助的。
我不光在实践单位学习photoshop,还在回家后试着熟悉其他软件，3dmax、adobe等系列软件我都亲手使用了一下。不过，要把这么多软件学好学精，不是件容易的事，只能选择其中对我专业最有用处的几款软件，努力的学习着操作技巧。我不仅在实践单位跟着师傅学习制作广告，有时还给客户送货，使我对广告市场也有了初步的认识，结合书本知识亲身经历了广告公司与客户间的合作、接洽，真正让我在理论与实践中获取实践经验，为我积累了珍贵的实践经历和社会经验。
通过社会实践，熟练专业技能，了解艺术设计机构，其部门、日常业务活动、整体状态。并从中认识到艺术设计活动与人力、资金、社会的关系。

Unusually intelligent Jim Carrey movie - a provocative and prescient media satire. Puts Big Brother and the current spate of docu-soaps firmly into perspective
Truman Burbank (Carrey is a happily married insurance salesman living a normal life in a small American town so perfect that he has never felt the need or desire to leave it. He has a loving wife (Linney, and a loyal best buddy (Emmerich. Life is good until one morning a stage light drops from the skies and shatters on the ground perilously close to him. It is the trigger that sets him questioning everything around him. What is behind the facades of the buildings he has never entered? Why do people seem to be travelling around him in a perfectly synchronized loop? What is going on outside his home-town? Truman is, it turns out, the unwitting star of a top-rated 24-hour-a-day TV docu-soap.
Under the careful critical scrutiny to which it has been subjected, the plot turns out not to be watertight. This is to miss the point of what is a hilarious and breathtakingly conceived satire which also allows Carrey to edge away from broad comedy.
The Truman Show is also oddly moving and has, as you would expect from a Weir film, a pronounced metaphysical slant with Ed Harris playing the show"s archly named producer/creator Christof.
Verdict
One of the cinematic highlights of the 1990s, The Truman Show is up there with Weir"s very best work.

This is my first time to participate in the practice activity of Haidu little reporter. When my mother told me that the activity content was to learn first aid knowledge, I began to look forward to it.
When I came to the auditorium, I saw the theme of the activity at a glance: everyone learns first aid and first aid is for everyone. Todays activity is very meaningful. I not only learned the first aid knowledge that can "save lives", but also gained a lot of laughter. In this happy atmosphere of "learning by playing, learning by playing", I absorbed more knowledge. I think if I meet someone who suddenly faints in the future, I will "save" them with the first aid knowledge I learned today.
