医生高明的啄木鸟手脚十分麻利，它以荷叶为手术台，为“吹牛大王”小青蛙进行肚皮缝合手术。手术进行得十分顺利，在青蛙爸爸的声声呼唤中，小青蛙终于睁开了眼。啄木鸟医生笑着对小青蛙说：“小青蛙，今后可再也不要吹牛喽，要不然你的肚皮还会裂开的，到那时再厉害的医生也救不了你了，记住了吗？”小青蛙的爸爸，还有叔叔和阿姨们也都异口同声地劝说小青蛙，羞得小青蛙恨不得找个地洞钻进去。
从此以后，小青蛙再也不敢吹牛了。
