人性本恶，只有通过教育，才能使人向善；人性是靠后天的教育、教化，而非天生；所以才存在教育这个概念，才有各种法律、规章制度来约束人们的行为。才使我们这个世界并没有在人欲横流中毁灭掉。这是因为人有理性，人性可以通过后天教化加已改造。如果整个社会倡导“扬善避恶”，那么人性就有可能向善的方向发展；要是人的自然倾向无限的向外扩张，社会属性按照同一方向推波助澜，那么人性就会更加堕落；这说明了儒家思想的重要性。
人性本恶，并不意味着人类的前途一片黑暗；人之所以成为宇宙之精华，万物之灵长；并不因为他完美无缺，而在于能有认识自己的勇气，承认人性本恶的事实。人有判断是非的理性，能够矫治本恶的人性；以法律平息暴力，规范道德减少斗争；设立政府处罚叛逆；倡导反对意乱行迷，如果人性本善，那么道德法律、交通规则用来干什么呢？如果人性本善，个人修养；社会教化还有存在的必要吗？
正是由于人性本恶的存在，所以；在人类社会的进化过程中，教化显得尤其重要；相当艰巨。才有“十年树木，百年树人”的`说法。通过后天的教化，人是可以加以改变；甚至形成伟大的人格。
正因为有本恶的人性存在，所以，学好三年，学坏三天；“病来如山倒，去病如抽丝”，认识到人性的本恶；并不是人类的耻辱，真正应该反省的。面对着真理，却不敢去正视它。其实，人类社会演进的过程中；从某种意义上也就是人的尊严这种虚假的虚荣被不断剥去的过程。
只有认识人性本恶，才能正视历史和现实；人性的本恶如果不加以控制的话，将会给这个世界带来什么的样后果呢？
只有认识人性本恶，才能重视道德法律教化的作用；才能重视人类文明引导的结果，培养健全向上的人格。在历史的坎坷当中，人类并没有自取灭亡；我们有理由相信，只要通过社会的教化系统；人们才可能从外在的强制走上理性的自约，自约人的本性的恶；从而培养一个健全向善的人格，并不意味着人终身成恶。
只有认识人性的本恶，才能调动一切社会教化手段来“扬善避恶”。我们也相信，通过人类的努力和传统文化的精华；必将使人类从无节制的***中合理的扼制并加以引导，从他律走向自律；从执法走向立法；才能使人类的教育教化得到发展，黑夜给了我黑色的眼睛；而我注定用它来寻找光明。
