许多暴力游戏的影响是潜移默化的，在游戏世界里，所有的问题都可以用武力解决。当学生熟悉这种解决问题的方式之后，在现实社会中遇到冲突，便会采用这种最熟悉的方式来解决，在他们看来，这和在游戏里重复过无数次的行为没太大不同。因此引发了很多悲剧。
如，200X年2月5日，重庆市人民小学五年级一学生因沉溺网络游戏，与3个小孩在家模仿游戏场景，持真刀和棍棒上演一起“强盗劫持人质”的游戏。结果，一个孩子被刀划伤，一个被棍棒打伤。
200X年3月6日，广州顺德一所小学的六年级学生小彭、小龚在课间和同学们模仿网络对打游戏，模仿游戏中的装备，结果小龚被小彭***死。
