麻将在每个人的心目中的位置不尽相同。在大人眼中，它如同西施昭君，牵引大人们走入极乐世界，它如同葡萄美酒，让他们如痴如醉。然而在小孩眼中，麻将是红颜悦色，后患无穷。麻将是魔鬼，逼得人们抛妻别子沉迷其中，麻将是鬼灵精怪，让我闹出一场又一场、一次连一次的笑话。
爸妈嗜赌如命，这不又打麻将去了。这回我得自己煮饭了，可我这个千金大小姐哪里懂得什么柴米酱醋盐，（柴米油盐醋）什么锅碗筷瓢勺。量米得量准，淘米得淘净。我去问爸爸量几筒米，“爸爸，爸爸，煮饭量几筒米？”我缠着爸爸问个不停，钻到麻将眼里去的爸爸哪里听得进我在问什么。旁若无人，置之不理，恰巧打出了个九筒就宝钓了，兴奋得不能自己，大声叫到：“九筒”！啊，我的天哪，九筒米！看来今天有客人了！我半信半疑地问爸爸：“啊，九筒米？”姑姑在一旁补充到：“是九筒”，爸爸得意忘形地说：“当然”。我惊若寒蝉，九筒就九筒吧。
安置好了电饭煲，我突发奇想，竟然量九筒米，客人肯定很多，我去买几条鱼招待。我又疑惑了，买几条呢？我还是去问爸爸吧：“爸爸要买几条鱼？”爸爸不置可否，断断续续地说：“看来只能五条了。”五条，五条？我又自作聪明地想：今天客人肯定不少，爸爸的'同学、朋友多。不管三七二十一，取钱买鱼去，至少不花本姑娘的“心血”就可以了。话是这么说，可我拎着鱼回来时已大汗淋漓，这该死的鱼怎这么重，它们也该减减肥才对！
我正回来时，一位陌生男子拦住了我。妈呀，不会是专门拐骗小孩的坏人吧？但我定睛一看，原来是爸爸的伙计，他用不流利的普通话对我说：“你是邱先生的女儿吧，请转告你的爸爸，这次出差带多少钱？行吗？”嘿，老爸的这位伙计还真有礼貌。待本小姐问问去也。我问过再三，可爸爸他久久没有回话，终于，他打出了张手里捏了好久的二万，欣喜欲狂地叫到：“哈，哈，哈，我出二万，牛吧！”天哪，二万！爸爸真是大方豁达，出个差就要二万啊！这花出去的可都是白花花的银子，金灿灿的钞票呀！我把这话告诉了那伙计，他差点没吓死！疯了似的去银行取钱。不过说也奇怪，爸爸哪么抠门，为什么会如此大方，莫不是打麻将打晕了头了。
哈欠！烧饭买菜可把我这饭来张口、衣来伸手的大小姐累坏了。不趁这个时候敲榨老爸一下哪是多冤啊，买个“好记星”或者游戏机什么的总不为过吧！我三步并作两步地跑到爸爸面前，对爸爸说道：“爸，我要买个‘好记星’，”爸爸全神贯注于麻将的布阵用兵中，那里理会到我说的是什么，垒方城，叠围墙，拼和牌，忙得不亦乐乎，刚好打出了一个红中，并高声叫到“中，中，中”哇噻！真棒，这个他也答应了，坐在一旁的妈妈拿出银行卡叫我自个儿取钱去，我顿时欢呼雀跃，一蹦三尺高。妈妈没好气地说：疯丫头，还不快去！我慌不择路就出去找了，可一想，到哪个商场去买呢？我又打道回府问爸爸去。正遇上爸爸打出一张东，我二话没说，直奔东边而去，结果什么也没看见，只好败兴而回。一问妈妈，妈妈说是西边。这南辕北辙的事也是因为麻将。
夕阳西下，等把五条鱼一字儿排开，爸爸傻了眼了，把电饭煲一打开更是气不打一处来，火冒三丈，虎啸山林，我指指麻将桌：“都是您自己叫我买的，”爸爸哑口无言，只好自食其果。我们家连续五天吃剩菜剩饭。
你说这麻将害人不？假如没有麻将那该是多好啊！

Dear all,
I am writing this letter to express my gratitude to my parents for teaching me to be positive and to be strong. “Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all.” is the opinion held by Aristotle. It is the experience of our forefathers, however, it is correct even today, including my parenting.
It is widely acknowledged that parenting, which can also be explained as family education, is of great significance in our character forming and manner acquiring. To be more detailed, setting good examples instead of just giving precepts is the greatest achievement of my parents. They not only taught me to think for the best and prepare for the worst; they taught me how. They not only told me the benefits of being strong in mind; they proved it. All those things require huge amount of time and work, but it’s worth it.
Without my parents’ contribution and education, I would never be who I am now. But most importantly, I would never be more gratitude to them than today.
