在我的书桌上摆放着一件泥塑作品，见过它的人无不啧啧称赞。而我，作为它的制造者自然心里一阵欢乐。今天，就与你一起分享分享我捏泥塑的过程吧。
这件泥塑作品是我暑假的无锡之旅中诞生的，而无锡的惠山古镇便是它的原产地。无锡的惠山古镇坐落于无锡的惠山脚下，一提到惠山，人们会不觉想起闻名的惠山泥——它是无锡惠山特产的一种黑泥，干而不裂，非常适合捏制泥塑。作品“大阿福”便是最著名的代表了。所以，闲暇之际，我以前来拜访一下这座著名的惠山古镇，亲身体验一下捏泥塑的乐趣。
我来到惠山古镇的一家泥塑馆，里面陈列着大小不一、风格各异的“大阿福”。各各做工精致，我沿着走廊，一路欣赏，一路走到了泥塑教室，开始了我的\'泥塑之旅。
由于我是初学者，老师便在制作之前为我进行了一番仔细的讲解与演示，之后，便是我大显身手的时候了，我跃跃欲试。
领到泥块的我先把它均匀分成两块——一块用来捏制泥塑，而另一块却有大用途。我把分好的泥块置于掌心来回揉搓，把它搓成了一个标准的球状，然后将它放入一个用石头雕刻出来的模具中央，慢慢将泥球压平，使泥球与模具充分接触，再将它放置在一边。接着，我拿来另一块泥，将它放在桌面上来回滚动，搓成一个圆柱状的泥块。然后，我用自己的两只手掌，像木板一样挤压泥块。于是，它从圆滚滚的柱体变成了一个方方正正、有棱有角的长方体。你可别小看它，接下来，它可就有大作用了。
放入模具的\"泥块也该取出来了，而怎么取是关键。你一定会认为是用手将泥一点点地从模具的边缘抠出来，那可就错了，因为那柔软的黑泥经受不住这样“残酷而漫长”的折磨，非常容易变形，我们就前功尽弃了。那么现在，就让另一块有棱有角的长方体泥块出场吧！
方法很简单，一只手将模具竖着拿在手中，另一只手拿着泥块，让其一端粘在模具中的黑泥上，就像盖印章一样“啪”地盖在上面，然后向外用力，将磨具中的黑泥拉出来。就这样，两块黑泥利用自身的黏力被拉了出来，又一个“大阿福”诞生了！
对待刚诞生的“大阿福”我们还需十分小心，最后的工作便是将它平置于桌面风干。几分钟后，一个“大阿福”便出炉了！当然，这时候你还可以为它穿上美丽的衣裳——据自己的喜好为它涂上鲜艳的颜色。

吴川是一个泥塑多的地方。
梅菉泥塑起源于瓦窑村。瓦窑村始于唐朝（公元618年），开基祖姓廖，从佛山石湾迁徙而来，佛山石湾精湛的陶瓷工艺从此也传入吴川。唐朝中期，有一年元宵，有个陶工随手用陶泥捏起一座小型泥塑玩，想不到竟吸引了不少观众，后来别的陶工也来凑热闹。这就无形中成了元宵泥塑展览。从此，泥塑这一民间艺术断断续续经历了唐、宋、元三个朝代。到了明朝洪武年间，皇帝派遣官吏四出挑选美女进宫寻欢作乐，民间百姓对此无不怨声载道。于是，梅菉头村的群众便乘闹元宵之机，特地造了一套丑化皇帝与皇后的泥塑。其特点是：人像的眼大、肚大、脚大、乳大、耳大。果然触动了官府衙门，竟派遣大批衙差，声言要抄斩全村百姓。后来，炮制这套泥塑的为首者便出灭辨解道：“皇上眼大看得准，肚大有福份，脚大乾坤，乳大养子民，耳大听民音，这为何不妥？”这帮趋炎附势的官兵听了无言可答，只好罢休。此后，当地群众对“造泥塑”、“看泥塑”、“评泥塑”的兴趣更浓，热情更高。这便成了当地居民闹元宵的一项主要内容。随着岁月的流逝，“泥塑”作品的题材也不断有新的发展。原先大都取材于神话传说的“盘古开天辟地”、“女祸炼石补天”，“嫦娥奔月”、“哪咤闹海”、“八仙过海”或取材于历史戏曲的“三顾茅庐”、“七郎打擂”、“平贵别窑”等，进而发展到取材于现实生活的“金杯献给祖国”、“军威震敌胆”、“向四化进军”等多样化题材。
若从“泥塑”制作工艺来看，逐步也不断有新的发展。过去，老是用稻草竹篾绑“树杆”作“泥塑”支架，如今已被“铁线扎钢筋”所取代了。有的群众还别出心裁地搞“活泥塑”，只要来人轻轻按一下机关，小舞台上的“书生”就可吹箫弹琴，又可启步运行；“公主”既可眉来眼去，又可翩翩起舞；何去何从也跟着拧起罗伞，确是造型逼真，栩栩如生。有的“胖娃娃”塑像还神气活现地当着观众的面“嘶嘶嘶”地拉起“小便”来。原来，这些巧夺天工的“泥塑”已被制作者搞成“电动化”了。
