剪纸是具有独特艺术风格的民间艺术，它用手工刻制，再点染以明快鲜丽的色彩而成。劳动人民把它作为年节的装饰，贴在纸窗上，所以又叫“窗花”。
在纸发明以前，人们在玉上透雕，皮革上刻花，金箔上刻画，产生了与剪纸相近的艺术，我们称之为“类剪纸”，虽然材质不同，但造型手法已和剪纸无异，这是剪纸的源头。
春秋战国时期，已有经镂刻的金银铜箔剪纸形式制品，镶贴到铜镜、漆器、木器上做纹饰。
西汉武帝时，随着剪纸的应用和普及，剪纸材料逐步转到植物纤维纸上来。当时既有用金银铜和绢纸制成的剪纸，也有用植物纤维等纸料制成的剪纸。自从汉代起，从剪纸又衍生出一种关节会动的皮影。
至今，不少年轻人结婚的时候，还喜欢给窗户上贴红色的“喜”字图案的剪纸。

每当我看见剪纸艺术家在一张张纸上飞快地挥舞着剪刀，创作者栩栩如生的作品时，我便不禁赞叹不已。
在我的语文书上，就有着四幅剪纸作品。 瞧瞧这四幅剪纸。每一幅上的人物，动物都惟妙惟肖。或与动物嬉戏，或翩翩起舞，或与伙伴互相帮助，或津津有味的读书，一副其乐融融的样子。
其中，我最喜欢的是翩翩起舞的一幅：一位十几岁的姑娘在花海里翩翩起舞。她身着少数民族的服装，跳着优美的民族舞，给人一种民族团结友爱的和谐气息。她的身后是一丛丛的蒲公英。一眼望去，无边无际，洁白如雪，仿佛给大地铺上了一层白色的绒毯。一副美不胜收的样子，使我不禁来到了想象的王国。
从前，有一位心地善良，富有爱心的壮族姑娘。她的名字叫做玛日娜，今年17岁了。玛日娜从小就熟读四书五经，她非常爱学习。玛日娜还是一个非常热情好客的人。她总是喜欢将天南海北的客人请到自家家里，为他们唱歌，请他们在自家吃饭，让客人们永远也忘不了壮族人民的热情。
回到现实的生活中，我不禁在一次对这幅剪纸作品啧啧赞叹。
