1980年10月1日，中国文化部、中央广播事业局、中国音乐家 协会联合举办了首届国际音乐日庆祝活动。电台、电视台安排了专 99音乐节目和文艺会演。同时，上海各音乐团体分别在文化广场、上 海音乐厅和其他剧场举行了11场音乐会，庆祝国际音乐日。
