summer can be very hot in southern taiwan where the temperature usually goes up to 32"c or more. because of the heat it is a trying experience to go to school or do anything else in a place that is not air-conditioned. also because of this i stay at home most of the time during the summer vacation and only occasionally go to the beach to plunge myself into the cool water as a way to keep my body less sticky.
actually i like swimming and think nothing is more refreshing than a swim. in the summer vacation that has just ended i went swimming many times with my classmates and we all had a good time. this summer vacation, however, was not spent entirely in seeking fun. as a second-year senior student i had to prepare myself for the college entrance examinations that were only a year away. in other words, i must find time to study, too.
so i divided my time between work and play during the summer vacation and derived much benefit from this arrangement.

At college, I missed my parents a lot. As the term was drawing to an end, I eagerly looked forward to going home. And I planned to do a thousand and one things during the vacation. Above all, I wanted to help my mother with housework. I also wished to read many hooks which my teachers had recommended. However, at home, my mother would never let me do anything. She completely deprived me of sharing her work. As soon as I opened a book to read,she would sit down beside me and ask me about all kinds of things at the college. To please her,I told her one thing after another,and soon I forgot all about books. Even when I was actually reading,she would, now and then,insist that I should eat an egg or drink a cup of tea. When I left home at the end of the vacation, not a thing in my plan had been carried out. But I felt very happy. I believed much more deeply than before in the old saying: Home, sweet home. There’s no place like home!

新学期，新气象，我们又迎来了新的老师、同学和新的教室，坐在新座位上，我们都有了焕然一新的感觉。
“在母校的最后一年，我们的新班主任会是谁呢？”大家正在热火朝天地议论着，忽然看到教室门口有人影一晃。定睛一瞧，原来是我们的新班主任方洁驾到了。教室里立马鸦雀无声，连呼吸声都听得一清二楚。方老师给我的第一印象是雷厉风行、风趣幽默。单单是报到那会儿，就让我们笑得前仰后合。报到结束，方老师立即召开了班干部会，提出了小组竞赛的管理方法和六条具体措施，要求我们班干部以身作则，调动同学们的积极主动性，配合班主任管理好班级。我好佩服方老师哦！好像有魔力似的，能帮我们这些小干部把同学们管得服服帖帖的。
在新的学期，我们都成为毕业班的学生了。也许是意识到了这一点，也许是认识到“一寸光阴一寸金，寸金难买寸光阴”的道理了，早上一进教室，就纷纷拿出课本。作为语文课代表的我好惊讶啊，惊讶同学们一个暑假过来就都懂事了、长大了、爱学习了。我像过去一样攒足了劲开始领读，担心声音小了同学们听不见，没想到我一开始领读，同学们就安静下来开始读书，个个声音洪亮、铿锵有力，让听的人精神为之一振。听着同学们朗朗的读书声，我脑海中闪过刚背会的古诗：“钟声荡雾开，晓风送歌来。书声似嘱咐，时去不我待。”
在新的学期，我还有新的计划和打算。在学习上要做到“会读、勤思、善问、会听、敢讲、敢评”。会读就是要不丢字、不多字、不错字、不错音、不破句、不断句，恰当地表达语气和文意，领会文章的要点。勤思就是在上课时、学习时，对老师提出的问题要积极思考，同学回答问题时也要积极思考，和自己心中的答案进行比较，看看对在哪里，错在哪里。善问就是要善于发现上课没听懂的内容和练习反馈中不会的问题，及时提出扫除障碍。会听就是上课时要专心致志地听讲，细心地听同学们的发言。敢讲就是在小组讨论或老师提问时，要积极主动地说出自己的见解，不能总是徐庶进曹营——一言不发。敢评就是要敢于评价别人和自己的发言，能够区别对与错，敢于表扬，也敢于批评。在生活中要做到朴素大方、活泼开朗、乐观向上、团结互助，要多参加社会实践活动，多做好事，多帮爸爸妈妈做家务，当一个名副其实的三好学生（学校里的好学生，家里的好孩子，社会上的好少年），而不仅仅只在学校里面表现好。
新计划、新感受。在这新的一年里，在小学的最后一年时光里，我要做到“百尺竿头更进一步”！

春天又来到了，就代表新的一年又开始了，在上学期中，我的数学不太好，特别是应用题，要不就是没看清题目，要不就是没读懂题目，所以，在这学期中我要发奋努力，争取赶上去。还有语文的阅读，总是没看清题目就乱下笔，还有一些基础知识，刚学过就忘记了。特别是课外知识，所以我要多看课外书。有时上课，我经常开小差，根本没有把老师讲过重要的知识、课文理解等知识记进去。
在这新的学期里，我也有新的打算，把上学期不足的改掉，好的地方再努力，做地比上学期更好。
我的打算：在上课的时候，专心听讲老师的话，把重要的知识记进脑子里，再记在书本上，还要认真听讲老师讲的课外知识和课外连接；在上课时我还要多举手，把以前不敢举手的坏毛病改掉，特别是在讲话时候声音要响亮，不要像蚊子的叫声一样；回到家要认真完成老师布置的作业，不要马马虎虎，特别是数学作业，要特别仔细，还要多打草稿，多动脑筋，不要把一题很复杂的题目看的很简单，不要把一题很简单的题目看的很复杂；然后再边读边听英语20分；过后再看半小时课外书，增加课外营养。这就是我的新打算，我一定要加倍努力。

记得那年正值隆冬，寒风凛冽，同学们都讥笑我这么冷的天还穿球鞋。我十分生气，但为了所谓的面子与其争斗起来。可由于寡不敌众，落荒而逃了。一路上我看着这双又破又不保暖的鞋，心里委屈极了，眼泪也顺着面庞落了下来。一到家我便把门一脚踢开，书包往沙发上一扔，气鼓鼓地坐在沙发上。妈妈正忙于烧菜，听到响声立即出来看我。她微笑的看着我，再看看那双被我踢到门角的鞋，她的笑容僵住了。我头也不回的走进了房间，门重重地关上了。任凭妈妈用颤抖的声音叫我。
一个小时、二个小时很长时间过去了，我冷静下来，自己的行为是否伤妈妈的心？想想家里的'经济条件并不宽裕，实房的贷款还没还，妈妈节俭的连衣服也不肯买，她总说：“只要等你长大了，有了工作，自已买好的衣服穿也来得极啊！想到这里我内心是多么后悔啊！望着深浓的夜色，我突然有种要向妈妈道歉的冲动。坐在桌前，看着门把手，内心又犹豫了，细听门外那熟悉的脚步声，不是妈妈吗？我激动的打开了门，只见妈妈手里拿着一双新棉鞋，身体直打哆嗦，她结结巴巴的说：“本打算下个月给你买的，现在看来不行，天气挺冷的，所以提前买了，快试上，看看合不合适。”我的泪水再也控制不住顺着脸颊滑下来了。“妈妈！”我扑进了妈妈的怀里，暖意流遍了全身。
母爱是无处不在的，也是无私的，只要你用心细细地感受，去体味，你就会荡漾在爱的海洋里。悲伤时，它是慰藉，沮丧时，它是希望，软弱时，它是力量，它是同情、怜悯、慈爱、宽容的源泉。让我们在源泉的滋润下，好好珍惜，茁壮成长吧！

the summer vacation had come round again. i was happy that i could forget about school at least for a while. lest i fool around all through this summer vacation, i made a plan as to how to spend it. first, i thought i should go over all those things my teachers taught in the previous term so that i could have a better understanding of them.
then i thought i should take up some forms of exercise, such as walking, running and rowing, to keep me physically strong. it stood to reason that with such a good plan i should make the best of my vacation time. i did, because i lived up to what i had planned.
