Jane Eyre is a first-person narrative of the title character, a small, plain-faced, intelligent and honest English orphan. The novel goes through five distinct stages: Jane's childhood at Gateshead, where she is abused by her aunt and cousins; her education at Lowood School, where she acquires friends and role models but also suffers privations; her time as the governess of Thornfield Manor, where she falls in love with her Byronic employer, Edward Rochester; her time with the Rivers family at Marsh's End (or Moor House and Morton, where her cold clergyman-cousin St John Rivers proposes to her; and her reunion with and marriage to her beloved Rochester at his house of Ferndean. Partly autobiographical, the novel abounds with social criticism and sinister gothic elements.

今天上午8点，本应在梦乡的我却早早地起床，与爸爸妈妈一起观看《中小学生安全教育知识讲座》。
前不久，继汶川地震后，日本又发生了8.9级的大地震。近年来，天灾不断，所以我们更要增强对于安全知识的了解， 危难时刻，我们就可以冷静镇定地面对了。
这次讲座，从地震、水灾、交通事故、火灾等方面，分别讲述了相应的措施。
地震发生时，如果在家中，我们可以找到结实的柱子或墙壁，形成三角空间。也可蹲在坚硬的床、桌子下，保护住头部，防止硬物撞击到头。也要闭住双眼，防止烟尘使视线模糊。
若在学校，我们要立即蹲在书桌下，抱住头部。当强震过去后，在老师的带领下跑到安全地带。
当我们在救人时，要确保施救人本身的安全，且按照“先近后远，先易后难”的顺序，用稳妥的方法实施救助。
如果被困，我们千万不要慌张，可以设法改善周围的环境。搬开砖头等硬物，避开不结实、易坍塌的地方。不用电器、明火。尽量拾捡一些棍子、木棒，将周围支撑起来。为了保存体力，不要做大范围的活动，不大声喊叫。可用敲击的方法求救。
同时，溺水也占中小学生生死亡率的三分之一，在农村更加高发。夏天，我们要在成人的带领下游泳。做到“游泳四不要”
家中没有人时，不能独自游泳。
在不知水情的情况下，不要擅自下水。
不能马上下水，需做一些热身运动，以防肌肉拉伤。
不能在水中嬉戏，逞能比赛。
若有人落水，我们可以将绳子、树枝等东西拋给溺水者，向周围大声呼救。
随着科技的日益发展，家家也都有了私家车，这也就使得交通事故逐渐增多。相信现在很多同学都是骑自行车上学，我们不能违反交通法规，做到“红灯停，绿灯行” 不要与同学在马路上追逐打闹。
最后，天气逐渐转暖，一些电器容易引发火灾。当我们遇到火灾时，要迅速躲到阳台或卫生间中，身体尽量贴地，不要贪恋钱财。用湿毛巾捂住口鼻，不乘电梯……
讲座结束了，那些逃生的画面却依旧在我的脑海中闪现。21世纪科技的飞速发展，人们不断地排放二氧化碳，地球变得千疮百孔。现在，地球也对人类进行了报复。水灾、雪灾、大地震…… 面对这些种种的天灾人祸，我们更需要加强安全意识。
