Founder of Labor Day
More than 100 years after the first Labor Day observance， there is still some doubt as to who first proposed the holiday for workers.
Some records show that Peter J. McGuire， general secretary of the Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners and a cofounder of the American Federation of Labor， was first in suggesting a day to honor those "who from rude nature have delved and carved all the grandeur we behold."
But Peter McGuire"s place in Labor Day history has not gone unchallenged. Many believe that Matthew Maguire， a machinist， not Peter McGuire， founded the holiday. Recent research seems to support the contention that Matthew Maguire， later the secretary of Local 344 of the International Association of Machinists in Paterson， N.J， proposed the holiday in 1882 while serving as secretary of the Central Labor Union in New York. What is clear is that the Central Labor Union adopted a Labor Day proposal and appointed a committee to plan a demonstration and picnic.

老师，我们这组有很多不听话的男生，告了很多次，老师也管了，但是但是他们江山易改本性难移，不听话的还是依旧不听话，我现在已经觉得跟他们坐在一起就是一种痛苦，有他们的地方就没我，跟他们势不两立，与其看着心烦，不如把他们调走！
可能大家跟我们老师想的一样，觉得能忍就忍吧。
但确实不是我咄咄逼人，而是他们实在太令人不能接受，每次小组讨论的时候他们都在传播黄色信息，也许他们只是开玩笑，但我们还是不能接受。

您好！
我是杭师附小的一名六年级学生。我见证了杭州环保事业的巨大进步，特别是垃圾收集上。但我发现，实际实施中还是存在很多不足。
在我们小区，有一次，我出门倒垃圾，看见一位老人，手上拿着一个垃圾袋，但却不知道往哪个垃圾桶里扔。我走过去询问老奶奶，发现她扔的是有害垃圾，可是小区里只有厨房垃圾和不可回收垃圾桶，并没有有害垃圾桶。在百般无奈之下，老奶奶只好把它扔进不可回收垃圾桶。
这件事对我触动很大。
据我了解，现在的垃圾处理一般有两种方法：填埋和焚烧。如果许多人把有害垃圾都扔进其他的`垃圾桶，然后用于填埋，慢慢地，有害物会渗透进土壤，从而产生污染。如果用于焚烧，同样也会污染空气。而如果让垃圾处理站再做二次分拣，会使垃圾处理速度极度下降，久而久之，就会出现垃圾围城了。
所以，为了让杭州的空气和环境更加美好，请您让有关部门在每个小区都能设立有害垃圾桶，让有害的垃圾也能找到它自身的归宿，以使我们的生活更美好！
