胎儿时期：胎儿的眼睛，是在母体内随着全身器官逐步发育形成的。保护胎儿的眼睛，主要是从孕妇方面着手，孕妇除了预防外伤、注意营养外，更重要的是及时预防和治疗传染病，尤其是在***的头3个月内，最要紧的是不要染上风疹和重感冒，因为在妊娠期间患了这些病，小孩的眼睛常易发生严重的疾病，如先天性白内障等。
乳儿时期：由出生到1周岁这段时间不要包着孩子看过强的光线，以防损伤视力；不要让孩子看固定不变的东西，以免引起斜视。
学龄前期：1至7周岁的儿童，主要是玩耍，所以，为了保护眼睛，必须注意选择不带刃以及没有锐角的玩具；同时，家长和保教人员要经常教育孩子，不要做危险性的游戏，看书时光线要充足，但应避开强烈的阳光，眼与物体要保持一定的距离（以1市尺左右为宜）；如有斜视，应及时去医院矫治；并要培养良好的卫生习惯，不用手指揉眼，不用别人的手巾擦眼睛。
学龄儿童：主要是看书的姿势要正确，书与眼的远近要适宜，光线要充足，不要在走路或乘车时看书，同时要注意眼病的预防和治疗。
成人时期：成年人，身体各部已经基本发育成熟，眼睛也是这样，所以对各种环境，条件的适应能力也比较强了。这时保护眼睛，主要应从免受外伤方面注意，在各种劳动中要遵守安全操作规程。同时要注意疾病的预防、治疗。有沙眼的应当积极治疗，以免发展严重，造成倒睫；得过虹膜炎的，应注意预防受凉感冒，以免连续复发，形成白内障。
老年期：最常发生的眼病是青光眼。这种病很严重，有时突然爆发，视力高度降低，并伴有头痛、恶心、呕吐、视物如在云雾中等症状，如果治疗不当，能完全失明；有的发展很缓慢，初起在晚上看灯时，不是在眼前出现红禄圈，有头痛等不适症状，慢慢的眼睛就坏了。年纪大的人如果发现上述症状，应及时就医。
引起青光眼的原因尚未完全了解，但发病的诱因常为焦急、争吵、暴怒等。因此，加强性格锻炼，遇事要冷静、沉着，也是预防这种眼病的有效措施

even if such a catastrophe would not happen, there would be a great temperature difference on the two hemispheres of the earth, and the four seasons of the year would no longer occur because a day and a night would be as long as a whole year instead of 24 hours. all this would greatly affect the life of human beings, imals and plants and that would cause worse results than anything imaginable.
