她的.朋友爽快的答应了。带玛蒂尔德回了家。皆好后有给了玛蒂尔德3万法郎作为补偿。
玛蒂尔德欣然离开了。拂来思节望了她远去的背影，心想：这真是一个善良的女人啊。
5天后的一个清晨，晨报上刊出一条新闻：骗子玛蒂尔德骗走拂来思节夫人的珍贵宝物，至今还在逃亡中。望知情者配合警方缉拿逃犯。
