章鱼之所以能在大海里横行霸道，是与它有着特殊的自卫和进攻的法宝分不开的。首先，章鱼有8条感觉灵敏的触腕，每条触腕上约有300多个吸盘，每个吸盘的拉力为100克，有时章鱼可以运走比自己重5倍、10倍，甚至20倍的大石头。想想看，无论谁被它的触腕缠住，都是难以脱身的。有趣的是，章鱼最喜欢将自己的身体塞进海螺壳躲起来，等到鱼虾走近时，它会突然变成一个庞然大物，向鱼虾发起猛烈进攻，迅速咬破它们的头部，注入毒液，使其麻痹致死，然后美餐一顿。
章鱼就是靠这个独特的看家本领，在海洋里横行霸道，无物敢敌。
然而，由于章鱼含有丰富的蛋白质、矿物质等营养元素，并富含抗疲劳、抗衰老，能延长人类寿命等重要保健因子如天然牛磺酸等，所以，章鱼不但是营养丰富的海鲜食品，而且在医学方面亦有极高的价值，是非常珍贵的补品。
当初，人们为了猎捕章鱼，费尽了九牛二虎之力，因为它的'隐身术太高明了。慢慢地，聪明的渔民根据它的特长，摸索出一套轻松的猎捕方法。他们把小瓶子用绳子串在一起沉入海底，可笑的是，章鱼见到了这些晶莹剔透、光滑可爱的小瓶子，好像见到了护身符一般，都争先恐后地往里钻，不论瓶子有多么小，多么窄，它们总是向着最狭窄的路越走越远，最后走进了死胡同。
就这样，渔民们不费吹灰之力，把一条条章鱼捕捉到手。
是什么囚禁了章鱼?是瓶子吗?不，囚禁了章鱼的，是它们自己，而且正是它们那些自身熠熠闪光的特长。
其实，在这个世界上，有多少人正像章鱼一样，本来有着令人羡慕的特长，却不加珍惜，自命不凡，固执己见，结果囚禁了自己，葬送了未来。
