燕子喜欢停在电线上，一双肉色的小爪子紧紧地抓住电线。它全身的羽毛乌黑光亮，光彩照人。头上的羽毛像一顶黑帽子。如果说背上的羽毛像穿了一件黑色西服的话，那腹部的羽毛就像给小燕子穿了一件雪白的衬衫。整个看上去，就像一位绅士。燕子活泼机灵，小小的脑袋上嵌着宝石般的眼睛，剪刀似的尾巴保持着身体的平衡。
燕子呢喃细语，喜欢在水面上舞蹈，一眨眼，又轻轻地停到电线上了。它一动不动地注视着天空，等待飞到它身边的小飞虫。
调皮的小飞虫悄悄地向田里飞去，尽管它这样机灵，还是难以逃脱小燕子锐利的眼睛。燕子蹬开电线，用它那尖尖的嘴巴一下子叼起了小飞虫，往远处飞走了。只有电线还在摇晃，微风还在吹动。
