“今天，我要做一件好事，”狮大王说：“要把天上的星星分给大家。”
分星星？那真是太好啦！
狮大王说：“分星星嘛，总该有个先后。我当然第一个挑，接下来是老虎、黑熊、花豹，还有狼、狐狸、鹿……好吧，开始挑吧。”
这时候，狮大王听到了一个胆怯的声音：“我，我排在第几个？”
原来说话的是一只小老鼠。虽然是谁也瞧不起的小老鼠，可他也想和大家一样，分到一颗属于自己的星星。
狮大王瞧了一眼小老鼠轻蔑地说：“你吗？排在最后，剩下的那颗没人要的星星，就是你的啦，哈哈。”
说着，狮大王为自己挑了一颗最大最亮的星星。
接下来，老虎挑了第二亮的一颗，黑熊挑了第三亮的一颗，花豹那颗是第四亮……
小老鼠一直在边上耐心地等着。等大家都挑完了，果然剩下了一颗又暗又小，而且是在很边上的一颗星星。
“啊，那就是我的星星啦！你好，我是小老鼠。”小老鼠在心里对那颗小星星说。
“好啦，好啦！”狮大王说，“星星分完了。以后，大家只许看自己的星星，不许偷看别人的星星！”

就这样，小老鼠也有了一颗属于他自己的星星。他很诚实，真的只看自己那颗星星，不偷看别人的。其实，小老鼠根本也不想看别人的星星，因为他越来越喜欢自己的星星啦。
吃完晚饭，小老鼠就趴在窗口看他的星星。就像聆听美妙的音乐一样，小老鼠静静地看，慢慢地想。这是很快乐的。
当小老鼠去睡觉的时候，总要对星星说：“晚安，我的星星。”

星星回到了它原来的位置上，还是做小老鼠的星星。现在，它在小老鼠眼里，不再是又暗又小的星星了，而是天上最亮最大的星星了。
小老鼠趴在窗口，静静地看着，他想，我的星星变得这么亮，狮大王会不会把它要回去呢？
