⑤高龄、肥胖、雌激素缺乏、骨密度异常（骨质疏松与骨硬化）、过度运动、吸烟、维生素D缺乏，以及创伤、关节形态异常、关节周围肌肉无力、反复的应力负荷等机械因素，是目前已知的几乎所有骨关节炎发病的危险因素，但没有证据表明寒冷是骨关节炎的危险因素。
