整部影片建立在浓郁的北欧神话与古希腊神话的背景上，人物的刻画基本上是以神话人物为模板。
在北欧场景中，克鲁尼***光了所有人，包括向他无辜的女友后脑勺开枪，这正好映衬了北欧神话中的毁灭场景，
也就是说世界的毁灭并不意味着主角的死亡。
在古希腊场景中，故事在一个名叫老城堡的地方展开，里面的建筑如同古希腊神话一样，迷宫式的分布和旋转的街道，最重要的是意大利场景中的女主角追求知识和智慧，让人联想起雅典娜，但是她们在人类社会中的职业却是妓女。
意大利场景中出现了三个女人，一个使用长枪，一个使用短枪、一个学习语言，
使用长枪的女人充满了狙击知识，但是缺乏智慧，只在与克鲁尼第一次见面中就暴露了长枪并不需要
大容量弹匝，需要的仅仅是一两发子弹而已，枪械需求明显的错误导致克鲁尼轻易的设下陷阱。
第二个女人追求婚姻，没有知识但是充满智慧，知道如何处理黑帮、如何处理顾客、如何追求爱情，
她最终得到了一大笔钱，所以这就是美国人眼中的雅典娜，智慧神而不是知识神，妓女神而不是处女神，观后感《影片《美国人》的观后感，妓女与雅典娜》。
第三个女人只是昙花一现，但是她努力学习英语，因此也就是长寿的凡人，因为打劫妓女的都是意大利人，
美国白人信仰自由女神像，通常都不会打劫妓女，但是她也不可能实现自己的梦想。
接下来需要讲讲克鲁尼，克鲁尼的角色在两个带枪的女人身上都犯了严重的错误，
在与长枪女人的.第二次见面时，长枪女人暗示克鲁尼向她射击，在随后的午餐中克鲁尼应该搞定她，
既然对方已经把充分的信任交给克鲁尼，那么克鲁尼就应该联手她干掉幕后老板。
对于短枪女人，当克鲁尼发现危险的时候，不应该让她先行离开，而应该带着她，
这样在与幕后老板的枪战中，可以用短枪女人来抵挡子弹，因为既然女人追求爱情就总是需要为男人牺牲，
而克鲁尼既然承诺了带短枪女人走，就没有必要太在意是带活的她离开还是带死的她离开。
从影片中看出，意大利只要有修车的地方就会有枪，即便小镇里面也会有妓女，那么整个国家就是妓女与枪的国家，如果短枪女人有个叫宙斯的父亲，那么她就是雅典娜，否则就是妓女。
