我无意中在网易论坛上认识了你。看到那一张张你和你的同学居住的草房和房屋里的摆设的真实写照时，才使我真正理解了家徒四壁这个词描述的是一种什么样的状态。很多茅草房顶都长出了绿色的野草，都很厚重。看得出来是旧的一层漏水了，又再把新的一层茅草盖上去的。墙壁是用破开的`竹子围成的，四处通风。仅有的家产就是一口锅，几个碗，一床破烂的被子。你们每天的粮食就只有学校里种的青菜和米饭，而且青菜里连一点油腥子都看不到。尽管如此，你们吃得仍然很香。而我们虽然是想吃什么就能吃到什么，但是还在不停地抱怨饭菜不合口味。
你们的学校里没有专用的学生宿舍，寄宿的学生只能住在教室里，中间是上课用的桌椅，教室两边就是学生晚上睡觉的高低床。因为空间有限，一张床往往是两三个孩子一起挤着睡的，有的班级寄宿的学生多，白天就把被子放在别人的床上，晚上就把几张课桌合并在一起当床铺睡觉。你们的被子都很单薄破烂，而深山里的晚上是很冷的，我真的无法想象在寒冷的夜里你们是怎样在企盼中睡去的。相比之下，我们的生活环境实在是太优越了。我们都有自己的房间，冬天来了，桌上放着电热玻璃板，手中抱着暖宝宝，身边烤着电暖气。尽管这样，我们还直喊冷，目的就是为了借学习来骗父母开空调。我们所处的优越环境和你们所处的环境相比，让我觉得跟你们相比我们身上缺了点什么。缺什么呢？我想，应该是一种精神，一种锲而不舍、渴求上进的精神。
